Micrografx' Webtricity is a Windows 95-based graphics suite geared toward professional Web designers. It includes Picture Publisher 7, an image editing program; Designer 7, a vector-based drawing program; QuickSilver 3, a tool for optimizing and adding interactivity to Web graphics; Simply 3D 2, a 3D modeling and rendering program; Media Manager, an image browser; and Web Content, a collection of images and effects. In The Comprehensive Guide to Micrografx Webtricity author Robert Bixby addresses intermediate and advanced PC users but assumes no knowledge of the suite itself. He introduces you to the primary features in each program and explains in detail how to use each program for creating, enhancing, and managing 2D and 3D Web graphics. Since he addresses each part of the suite individually, you can jump to the package you're most interested in and start there. In each chapter, Bixby takes you through a variety of projects so you learn the features available to you and get practice in creating attractive graphics. The final chapter reviews basic components of Web design, such as creating backgrounds, frames, and catalogues; here Bixby offers sample HTML code and advice on using helper apps, such as the GIF animator, included with Webtricity. An included CD offers graphics utilities, sample HTML pages, and demo or freeware versions of several graphics packages.
