Rating: Summary: CareerXroads 2001 Review: I have just used this book to get information on a particular job posting site for JDS Uniphase, an electtronics manuacturer in Piscataway NJ where I am working. This site was one that our advertising agency had not proposed. Before placing the job opening on this internet site, I checked it in the book for their comments, such as, how wide is the readership and how well is the site constructed. I also got a cost compairison. This gave me what I needed to know (and quickly), to advertise on this site. The designation "2001 Best Site" gives me further assurance that our advertising money will be well spent. In addition to advertising, I use the book to locate the best sites to source candidates;for example, electronic engineers. I keep a copy of this book on my desk at work and another on my desk at home. I wouldn't be without it. Richard M. Stone Human Resource Recruiter

Rating: Summary: A Bible for Job Searchers & Recruiters Review: Would you go to the supermarket without a shopping list? Could you board a commercial airplane flight without a ticket? You wouldn't have the gall to attend a wedding without offering a gift, would you? The answer to these questions is a resounding "No, of course not!" Likewise, at least to my mind and experience as a professional recruiter and staffing manager (and sometimes job seeker), it would be folly to engage in a job search or candidate search without first consulting Cripin & Mehler's "CareerXroads". Within its 435 pages, the authors successfully manage to review more than 1500 internet sites that focus on the ever-widening and complex world of jobs, resumes and career management. The authors' research and insights are presented clearly, in relevant and concise language that every reader should find invaluable. The payoff in saved time, effort and increased efficiency is priceless. Every passive or active job seeker and every hiring manager, recruiter or staffing professional should clear space for "CareerXroads" on their bookshelves and refer to it, daily. Read well and prosper.
