Summary: If you wanna program Java with Domino, you need it!
Review: Before buying this book I used LotusScript for all my programs. Having read a few java books previously and then this book, I was able to write complex java agents/servlets for Domino. This book really gets down to the nitty gritty and tells all about the NOI interface. (even some parts where Bob made an error on.) I highly recommend this book if you know Notes/Domino well, have some java experience, and want to write java domino programs.

Review: Hey Bob! Great book! I come from a heavy LotusScript background, and in explaining the Java interface, you have clarified many things I've had to wonder about from time to time. I have no (real) experience programming in Java, but had no trouble following your examples. I expect many of them, especially in the area of multi-threading, to carry over to the next release of LotusScript, which is also going to support it.

My dream team.....why don't you and Rose Kelleher pool resources for the next book? Expecially after version 5 is out, I expect to see a lot of CORBA related Java articles from the two of you!

Review: This is by far the best and most useful book I have purchased in a long time! Bob has great insights on the future of Web interfaces to data and how you, as a programmer, can effectively work in the new paradigm. He does an excellent (and concise) job of helping you sort out the architectural options for the web: cgi/perl/asp/activex/etc. The book then has a detailed explanation of everything you need to know to program Domino in Java. I found Bob's speculation on the CORBA/IIOP and Domino v5.0 technologies especially useful in planning our IT infrastructure. Please buy this book if you are curious about Domino and Java! If you are new to Java you should also find a beginners guide. This is not a 'learn Java and Domino' text for beginners. Intermidiate and Advanced users, however, definitely need this book before they write another Agent in Domino or another CGI script in Perl. This book will wake you up to the future of the Web, Domino, and Java programming!
