Summary: Pure looniness
Review: A great read, if only for the entertainment value. The author is paranoid, even going so far as to suggest Clinton would impose martial law in the ludicrously unlikely event of a Y2K meltdown. The author is also plainly a member of the loony Religious Right, and his disdain for homosexuals and non-Christians is thinly veiled. Now that Y2K has passed harmlessly, pick up a copy at your local used bookstore or Goodwill for laughs.

Summary: A cop-out after extensive quotes from Scripture and Spurgeon
Review: A reasonable treatise on the subject of the overblown Y2K problem. The reader is exposed to frequent quotes and anedotes (undoubtedly from the author's files on faith, fear and final judgement) from Scripture and Charles Spurgeon. Cute phrases in the sub headings. To a Christian, the book does not strengthen one's faith and the belief that only God knows of the exact timing of the second coming of Christ. It is quite readable for the unbeliever to be introduced to God and perhaps make the minimal pregmatic preparations for Y2K. The author should speak more forcifully against the doomsday Y2K prophets. In any event, all these Y2K books will be at the $1 bargain table on Jan 2000. The take home message from this book is Don't panic, God is in control.

Summary: Excellent info on both practical and spiritual sides of Y2K.
Review: As usual Farrar expresses himself in entertaining, easy-to-read style that will provoke your thoughts about the practical, and more importantly, the spiritual side of Y2K. Farrar's unique spiritual insight will give you comfort and confidence that no matter what Y2K brings, whether no big deal or societal upheaval, God is indeed in control - as always.

Summary: Pure looniness
Review: Excellent book that gives a reasonable overview of the Y2K issues, then systematically goes through the various issues of Y2K, possible areas of fear or stress related to those areas, and provides lots of references and examples of how God has cared for others in those areas during other times of crisis. I particularly loved the illustrations regarding God's care for the Pilgrims.

Summary: Not What I Expected
Review: Of the Y2K-related books that I have read, I would put this one on the top of your "must read" list for two reasons. First, Steve focuses on issues that transcend the already "stale" information of other books (due to the rapidly changing Y2K scenario), presenting a balance view. Second, he emphasizes that no matter what your viewpoint (from believing worst-case to best-case), you, the reader and your family's ultimate sufficiency is in our God. The most important preparation you can make (if you are making any) is to know Him better every day and be ready to trust Him more.

Summary: After your'e thorougly confused about Y2K, read this book.
Review: With such a perplexing problem as Y2K, I found this book to be one of the most encouraging and poinant books on the topic. Steve Farrar wisely guides us through the minefield of Y2K potentialities and provides a rock-solid perspective that will enable readers to thrive in uncertain times. I have put my money where my mouth is and have bought over 100 copies and have given them away to friends and associates.
