Rating: Summary: How u can improve it Review: Hi Janice, I thot of giving a critique, but then thought that if I were u, I'd rather hear a feedback on how to improve it. After all, anyone can critique just about anything. You can add more value to the existing man pages by: 1. organising them in functional grouping (in addition to alphabetical) 2. provide a list of frequently usage functions in certain conditions. 3. take out those unfrequently used functions, n move them to the back of the book. many thanks for writing books on Solaris. Keep it up. e1
Rating: Summary: A pitty. Review: This book I would rank very high in my top 10 all time worst buys. I'm not talking books only here. It's very ad-hoc random-like structure and utter shallownes makes this book completely unusable for Solaris users on all levels, from beginner on to - most certainly - advanced. Winsor's book simply isn't up to par to what you'd expect from Sun Mycrosystem Press. It certainly doesn't beat the freely available Admin Guides, also from Sun. My advice to anybody looking for a desktop reference guide is either to download the pdf's from Sun or to buy the hardcopy edition.
