Rating: Summary: Research and opinions from a thoughtful and unbiased source Review: Alright, I admit that through the Y2K days Hank has become a friend of mine and some of my corresdpondence with him is quoted in the book.Probably no one is reading this book now or the reviews three years after Y2K, but in retrospect we should all consider how so many of us were sold terrifying angles by people who had their own axes to grind. People were so up in arms with their opinions, that those of us publishing less than alarmist views received everything from insults to death threats for interfering with the public reaching what others thought was the appropriate level of panic (including setting aside food, guns, etc.) I'd like to think it couldn't happen again. I'd like to.
Rating: Summary: Where are the apologies? Review: As is often the case with many critics, they are quick with the criticism and more often than not, incapable of admitting when they were wrong and even more incapable of offering an apology. Hank Hanegraaf was one of the few Chistians who stood firm in his conviction that Y2K would come and go without a hitch. Even the very intelligent and capable Dr. R.C. Sproul in "Table Talk" magazine taught that at the very least, we would experience worldwide catastrophe! Incredible! Yet where are the critics now? You who said Hank was "unqualified" should come out of hiding and admit you were wrong. "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
Rating: Summary: Why isn't Hank qualified? Review: In the shortest words possible, I can summarize the brand new book, Millenium Bug Debugged, as saying what needs to be said, and leaving out what doesn't need to be included, and the reasons for doing so. By documenting everything that is written, and verifying the sources to the reader in which are double-checked on the further sources in which he quotes from and uses, Hanegraaff makes sure the reader knows not only what Y2K will NOT cause, but only states what is historically and publically stated by the leading, forthmost analysts, in the Christian world, on this falsely-spiritualized topic. One ought NOT to be fooled by any reviews or hearsay on this book for it supposedly "[lumping] Larry Burkette, James Dobson, and D. James Kennedy into the same group as Chuck [Missler]. . ." He makes a clear distinction between prominent Christian leaders such as those listed, and especially R.C. Sproul, and sensationalists like Missler. The problem noted is that some of these leaders are the most known ones who are doing things like quoting and relying upon the sensationalism, selling, and simply MISINFORMATION of such sensationalists like Michael Hyatt and Chuck Missler. Irresponsibility OUGHT not be tolerated in any type of Christian media, whether public announcements, books, or sermons, and from listening to all of the broadcasts of the Bible Answer Man for the last few months on various points of Y2k, AND the recent broadcasts with interviews with Christian Computing Editor Steve Hewitt and evangelical Christian - David R. Lobbey, CIO of US West, and others, I have come to the conclusion that the position of the Christian Research Institute and the way it has been dealt by especially Hank Hanegraff has been held VERY responsibility. Some rebuttals to any claims against this book on "guilty by association," "cultists," and "extremes" have not been found by myself, so I would question if such conclusions have been found either by reading parts of the book, OR by distorting information (IRRESPONSIBLY) via hearsay. Any future claims of misusing "sensationalist," etc., can be prevented by saying that one can accurately categorize someone such as a Missler into sensationalism. Another further criticism that may have to do with Hank's credentials to deal with the subject. Millenium Bug Debugged not only is based upon reliable, thorough, and consistent research, but he, from his background as a strong researcher and discerner, is wise enough to turn to other excellent research aids and ACTUAL experts in the area such as Steve Hewitt and others. . .
Rating: Summary: From A Christian Software Engineer Review: It's easy in retrospect to see the clear evidence of Hank's latest endeavor to wake the Christian community up. The Millennium Bug Debugged is a well researched book concerning Y2K reports that exposes other books (like the Millennium Bug) hidden agenda to make money preying on peoples fear. It would be almost comical to read back on positive reviews and comments from "experienced" programmers and computer experts for other books (like the Millennium Bug)if lives weren't devastated by it's ramifications. Good job Hank! You're one author who isn't walking around with egg on your face. Time has revealed that.

Rating: Summary: All Christians concerned about Y2K need to read this book!! Review: This book is definitely a must-read. As more and more information becomes available regarding Y2K, we must all keep ourselves up-to-date and this book does just that. Hank Hanegraaff "tells it like it is" in a quick, easy read book that cuts through all the Y2K hype and sensationalism. His research is well-documented and if you have questions about any of his research, you can find much of it yourself at various websites where he obtained his information. I was really amazed at how some highly respected Christian leaders were misled and consequently misled their congregations based on "sloppy journalism". He cuts through the hype and gives the facts.
