Summary: This is still the BEST Linux book on my bookshelf!
Review: I have been using Linux since the mid 80's. I even give lectures at College about Linux. I have a large amount of books on Linux; but this is by far the best of these. Whenever I need to do something difficult with Linux, this is the first (and usually the only) book in which I look for the solution. It is not perfect; but it is the best you'll get.

Summary: Must have for beginning/intermediate users
Review: If you are a new/intermediate user of Red Hat Linux this is a must have book. My favorite thing about this book is that it covers in simple step-by-step fashion many of the things you want to do with Linux. I keep this book with in arms reach of my systems as it servers as a great reference as well as a tutorial. It is not a "complete" reference, but then again a "complete" Linux reference could not have the detail this book has. The book is very focused on Red Hat Linux, and if that is not the distribution you are using, you might find that aspect would turn you off to this book.

Summary: An excellent FAQ book
Review: It's probably no the best book about Linux, and quite expensive when read its content, but if you are looking for a book from where get a quick answer to usual and simple questions (how mount a flopply, how change X windows server, using tar command .... ), that's your book.

Summary: Excellent all-in-one guide for new users of Linux
Review: This book covers everything that a new Linux user needs to get a system up and running, and how to use Linux effectively and productively.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent all-in-one guide for new users of Linux
Review: This book is the absoloute must-have book for all Linux users, from Newbies to Gurus. Not just another Linux distribution CD-ROM with a book stuck on for good measure, this book explains, in the clearest possible language, almost every possible command, program, and the internal workings of the Linux O.S.. Written specifically for the RedHat 5.0 distribution, it is nevertheless a most usefull book for any Linux system, or for that matter most other Unix systems as well. As the owner of better than twenty books on Linux and other Unix systems, this is the one that stays on my desktop within quick reach.
