Rating: Summary: Haven't yet received the book... Review: ...but judging by the cover it is going to be an excellent and helpful tome. I think that all books that have black and white photos on them are most excellent, usually because the publishers are not trying too hard to get your attention - it is almost as though they are saying "we don't care if you look at this book or not", which to me implies confidence, and strength (lots of strength, I like strength). There is a nice big blank area on the cover too, which is good because sometimes while reading a book you need something on which to write something down, like say a your dogs cell phone number, or the new name you have just gave the sofa, so that you don't forget it, like you did the last name you gave the sofa, or was that the ottoman? Anyhow, add to that the use of the Times font, and you have a work that cries out "I will be easy to read because you won't have to learn how to read a new font". All in all, very excellent. I am excited, can you tell?
Rating: Summary: I agree with the reviewer below Review: I bought this book a year ago......read once, put in the closet, never used again. Seriously, the authors are said to be great Windows gurus, but, as writers..umm welll....enough said.Avoid this book, better get Mark Minasi's, which is not a great book but useful. Even better, use your browser and scan the web for Windows tips!

Rating: Summary: Worth the wait Review: I just got my copy today. It seems to be highly readable (unlike many technical manuals) and well organized with a wealth of useful tuning/maintenance tips. Those that I did read - were comprehensive and easily comprehendible. The CD has a wealth of demos and tools on it.
Rating: Summary: Could be considering ordering the book.... Review: I must agree that the ease of use of the Times font is a superb idea. Too many times have I been stumped by Arial or Bookman Old Style. Times is a standard and it states the book's information is tried and true. No surprises, just solid knowledge. One does ponder though, will the author be using additional fonts to highlight "Tech Tips" or "Best Practices" or will he use Bold and Italic variants of Times? I tingle with anticipation I've looked at the covers of other Amazon books and have rarely been as compelled to "see larger photo" as I have been with this one. ps. Thanks for the great tip on the use of the white space, Jack. You obviously are a connoisseur of fine books
