Summary: Good tips and tricks!
Review: A lot of the cheat codes in this book can be found on the internet, but it also has valuable information that cannot. Some of my fav features are: The career charts, Sim zodiac signs matchmaking, objects in relation to room score, and sim behaviors. This is great info to take your simming to the next level!

Summary: This is a very good strategy guide!
Review: Hi i bought is book just a couple of hours ago,and already have it read . this is a vey good guide if you are just now learing about the sims or you now eveything about the sims. it covers The Sims and the expansion pack. This book has every thing: it brecks down the caeers and tells what personality would be best with what career and how many friends and skills you will need, it helps you to maintain a good sim family it tells you what furnatur, and house hold iteams will help you build up your needs and still save your sims some money for pizza and food or how to keep your friends entertain so they will stay friends with your sims. and it has cheats i know (i myself likes playing the game with out them.) but the cheats will give you help more then they give the game away like the water cheat that lets you make pounds, lakes, streams ect. i have been trying to find that one out for months. so if you are looking for something that will help you along with your sims then buy this book it is worth the money you can always go back to the book and look up something you forgot it also tells you about the crystal ball- what the riddles mean, the chemesty set what potions it will make, what the tragic clown will do, what the bad and good wishes are from the guenie how to get the grime riper to your door. i hope you buy it i promise you wont be disapointed. very detailed. thank you:0)

Summary: It was good.
Review: I am an avid Sims player.. to understate it. So I know many of the tricks to maximize playing, but the Livin' Large Strategy book gives a lot of really cool secrets to have fun with. All 3 of the other books just give you basic info that's readily available in the game (like an object's price and description) but Livin' Large gves you such details as what each color potion from the Home Chemistry Lab will do and how to solve the riddles from the Madame Blahbatfry's crystal ball. It also tells you how to cure your Sim's sickness. This is a definite must-have for Sims lovers.. but don't bother buying the other ones.

Summary: Quick info when you need it.
Review: If you have the older version of the guide you may not need this one simply because it adds information for Livin' Large rather than showing any new secrets behind the game in general. As for the newer guides, I'd say probably getting one for Hot Date due out sooner or later would be worth the wait as it should have the most information of all the available guides. Until then, no need to update this as, again, this has all you will need for the time.

I should add this: none of the guides to date really give you much more info than you could find out on your own. Even so, its nice to have everything on paper in front of you instead of having to remember numbers and figures or chasing down penciled noted you think you left under your keyboard.

Summary: Hints and tips to get you started on your Sim journey.
Review: The first time I played The Sims was using Bob and Betty Newbie as a practice run before I committed to making my own families. I was so busy running them ragged trying to raise the hunger, fun, and bladder motives that their comfort and energy was less than zero! I just couldn't organize myself enough to keep them satisfied while I tried to figure out what everything was supposed to do.

Enter this strategy guide which offers tips from the creators and testers of The Sims. It assumes that you have read the game manual that came with the software and expands on it by giving in depth explanations of each motive and personality trait in order to better understand your Sims autonomy, or lack thereof. It also covers building homes, each object and it's value and interaction, and a basic tutorial on how to create your own skins and objects.

It is also full of tables and graphs, a few of which are informative and few of which are kind of difficult to understand. The main reason to buy this book would be for the notes and tips that are scattered about that give you an inside peek at the motivations of your Sims and a few ways to manipulate the game.

I'd recommend this book as a way to become "friends" with your Sims so that you can give them better social interactions, better homes, and happier personalities.

Summary: The Sims are Living Large
Review: This book is a definite plus for all you Sim fanatics. It has more information than the original Sims Strategy Guide. Some of the stuff is more indepth than a person might want. All in all, I found it to be quite helpful. However if you are trying to decide whether to buy this one or the original, I would say get this one. Even if you purchase House Party, it doesn't contain the same info.

Review: This is a greeeeeeeat book if you're really, really, really, stuck in the Sims. Otherwise, it's just a good add-on to the rest of your Sims stuff. I mean, I all ready knew all the cheats and stuff, but it was really fun reading all about things that I didn't know about the "Grim Reaper", the guinea pig disease, and other neat stuff. No color pix though. That's one disadvantage. Hey, at least their clear, not all blury like the Internet ones. This is the best book to get for your first collection item. It covers both "The Sims" and "Livin' Large". Big difference than getting the first one first. If you love all those cheat and game books, this is totally for you! Enjoy the book about the best game in years!

Summary: Good Strategy Guide
Review: This is a pretty good strategy guide book. It is a great place to turn for quick information, but - and this is a BIG but - it is not a good use of your money. "The Sims" and the "Livin' Large" are so easy that a guide book is almost a waste. Save your money, and buy "House Party."

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Definately worth it-for the young/old,experienced/beginners!
Review: This strategy guide is great! Are you one of those people (like i WAS) where you have the list of cheat codes yet you dont understand what they're for (if not, oh well)? This book explains what each code is for. It also gives you excellant quick start tips (those, alone, are worth the money!). If you are not the kind of person who likes to cheat, this book also explains, in greater detail, the "works" of the game (example - dealing with the expansion pack - do you know EVERYTHING that the robot can do? i bet not, but this book explains it, along with all the other items). But, for all those pessimists out there reading this, (and for the optimists who want to know the good and bad about the book) about, oh, maybe 1/5 (one fifth) of the book talks about things such as "why do sims choose to dance to the music instead of playing pool" - a lot of autonomy stuff. Also, there are a lot somewhat confusing tables full of info the average person wouldnt need. But, just remember this: the "goodies" of this book outweigh the bad stuff in this book 10 to 1 (which is why i give this book a 5 star rating)! i encourage you to get the book - no matter how long you have been playing the game (there is always something to learn, since not even half of it is mentioned in the manual that comes with the game). It is definately worth it!
