Rating: Summary: Good Book for Intermediate Level Review: A lot of details. I passed the exam just reading this book. A few errors in the book.
Rating: Summary: Very poor proof reader used on this book ! Review: I can't believe this book actually made it to print. The number of blatant errors is unreal. Wish I had read these reviews before I picked it up.
Rating: Summary: A book published before proof-reading. Review: Nice coverage, however full of mistakes. Do not expect to be equipped with the required knowledge to solve the following questions. Do not waste your time using answer keys.
Rating: Summary: Seems as if it may have been rushed to market Review: There was a clear need for a book like this, however, after reading the first two chapters and attempting some of the questions it seems to me that this book was not properly proofread (and is even somewhat incoherent in places). I had difficulty understanding what was being asked in some of questions. I am sure that some of the answers in the answer key are wrong and disagree with more than a few of the other answers. I don't feel like it is a lack of knowledge on the author's part, but a lack of careful proofreading before sending it to press. If you are studying for the CCIE or would like to learn more about networking this book could potentially confuse you about certain details. I had high hopes that this would be a great book and looked forward to its publication, but the number of errors limits its value. Perhaps some kind soul will offer space on his/her web page where readers would be able to list needed corrections; with this reference it would become a useful and authoritative reference and study guide. (This might also create a forum that would generate a lot of interesting discussion regarding the correct answers.)
Rating: Summary: Good CCIE Preparation Guide Review: This book has very good scope and depth, and the protocol overviews far excel the perfunctory, cookie-cutter, "Get network certified and earn more!" level. The bit-level analysis of ATM and Frame-Relay are enlightening, and the sections on OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, and BGP are clear and concise.I did catch a few errors, but in my opinion, this is the best general internetworking text available.
Rating: Summary: This book is not a CCIE prep book Review: This book is fairly useless in trying to prepare for the CCIE written or the lab exam. The author is not a CCIE and it clearly shows. He just wrote a general networking book and tried to sell it off as a CCIE book trying to sell few copies. There are some good information in the book such as the chapter dealing with Netbios and stuff. However, this is not a CCIE prep book.
Rating: Summary: Error Rich Review: This guide has more errors in it than ANY technical manual I have ever read. They appear both in the sample questions and the in-chapter examples. I would wait for the 2nd edition...

Rating: Summary: Pass on this one Review: Undoubtedly one of the worst books I own. The technical content is often incorrect and self-contradrictory. The text is sprinkled with inappropriate, inane, and spurious comments like "Life is good". The writing style is muddled, repetitious and boring. If you seriously want the CCIE I would pass on this book and put the money towards the exam.
