Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good book for Visual C++
Review: As with _all_ Visual C++ books, they assume you know C/C++ and the main concepts behind object-oriented programming.

This is a nicely laid out book and it covers a lot of good beginner's topics with just the right amount of detail. If you're fairly new to Windows programming, you'll want to buy this book for your library.

In the very near future, I hope it is updated for Visual C++ 7.0 and that they include add of a couple of new chapters-- perhaps devoted to COM/DCOM, creating DLLs, creating a Windows 2000/XP service, using the right-click menu, debugging an application, as well as using the system tray.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Not worth the money!
Review: If you are looking for something discussed in great details, say, Multi Threading, consider other books written specifically for that topic.

Every topic in this book is poorly discussed and ends just before you decide to dig more into it.

Review: This is an outstanding book for those looking for an introduction into the world of C++ programming.

Summary: Excellent book for the beginner.
Review: To the person stating that the book didn't have enough dept: The book is for the "BEGINNER" level of Visual C++ 6, and with that in mind, this book is right on target.
