Review: I have a copy of this book which I bought almost 9 years back. This is one of the best Introductory programming books I've ever read. Schildt has an excellent skill of explaining difficult concepts in a simple manner. Over the years I've recommended this book to many of my friends. Every one of them found this book easy to read. I would strongly recommend this book to anybody getting started in C.

Summary: I had to complain somewhere
Review: I really had to, I've owned this book for ages and every time I look at it I find another mistake and get really angry.

But let's be fair with Herbert... I am talking about the Spanish version translated by Jose Maria Vela Bermudez and it is mainly this guy's fault. Disgusting work, even the index does not match the pages! And that is still not so bad compared to other things.

I was fooled into buying this book at the bookstore; I said "The Dennis Ritchie C language programming book please", the guy at the store answered "you don't want that one, it's too... I don't know too... not good" he finally came-up with and recommended me the book I own now. At first I wondered why he promoted it so much, and after I started reading it I found out, he just couldn't sell it otherwise.

Well now after many years of being irritated I am finally buying the book I wanted from the beginning. I didn't do so before because I thought I didn't need two books, and I don't, so as soon as I get my new book I will either burn this one or flush it down.

Herbert, I guess your English edition is much better, it probably (though I doubt it) even deserves the 5 stars you got from another reviewer; but you deserve this review because you and your editorial allowed such a disgusting Spanish version to reach me.

Summary: Great book to learn the basics of C
Review: This book explains the basics of C without going into specifics about windows or operating systems. I personally needed to learn C to program microcontrollers, not to write windows applications. This book is an excellent learning tool and an excellent reference.
