Summary: I Liked It!
Review: I agree--I bought this book because it was the only one that addressed the three Adobe products together, and I was thrilled with that. MB's style is very methodical and clear, and I found much more USABLE information packed into this book than many others I have tried to use. He has great examples that are clearly illustrated, and the book is beautiful and inspiring as well. It is nice to find an author who you can trust for solid nformation, especially when there are so many seemingly similiar books available. I look forward to the next version, and I know it will be the only book I'll need.

Summary: Adobe Photoshop 5.5 Web Design
Review: I am currently on a work based training course in web design and have found this book to be an invaluable help. I cannot speak highly enough of the ease of use and readability of this book. Anyone involved in the web design process should buy this book without delay.Invaluable

Summary: Taught me what I needed to know
Review: I bought this book with a view to learning about the integration between Photoshop, Imageready and Golive. Although I have a design background, the way in which images were prepared between Photoshop and Imageready, then exported for Golive required clarification. The explanations on slicing for the Web, plus details on image compression - best approaches and considerations - were great. I now know exactly how to prepare my work through the two applications in order to have it appear at it's best, whilst retaining a sensible size, in the third. I have no hesitation in recommending this title to anyone wishing to further their knowledge of the integration between these three great Adobe products.

Summary: Great examples!
Review: I have read this book and was amazed at the level of detail used in the examples. Michael uses examples very effectively to show how to use Photoshop to accomplish certain tasks. He uses plenty of useful screenshots that really help bring the point across. These examples also make the book fun to read and animate the reader to go sit down in front of the program and try out the techniques that Michael describes. I also like the interviews he put in this book. They provide insight from people that are using the program in real life situations. The fact that I am one of the people interviewed is not the reason why I am giving it a 5 star rating. If you are interested in Photoshop - Go read this book or check out the new version on 6.0!

Summary: Opens your eyes to the planning and creation of websites
Review: It should be made clear that this book does not follow the same format of Adobe's Classroom In A Book series. Adobe's series is more concerned with expanding upon the user manuals provided with the software packages, giving thorough training on basic functions.

Finally, here is a book that provides wonderful in-depth and easy to understand information on the thinking and planning behind creating a site. If you really want to make an impression, design an efficient and visually stimulating web site then Micahel Baumgardt's Web Design book will assist you dramatically.

You will find chapters dedicated to explaining the whole deal with compression formats, Photoshop skills, GoLive facilites and optimizing images to enhance the speed of the loading time of your pages. You will finally get the lowdown on the differences with browsers and computer systems (Macs and PCs really do have different results when screening the same image). There are interesting interviews with professional web designers who give an insight towards how even the best sites incorporate the most basic of elements. But more importantly you are shown how to achieve these results with clear, and straight forward instructions with using GoLive.

Adobe's software has been designed to be compatible with one another. Yet there hasn't been one book to show how you combine the likes of Photoshop and GoLive to full effect. Web Design teaches you how to implement these programs into your creation. I didn't even know what ImageReady was until this book showed me.

But I have found the most successful element of this book to be its presentation. Other computer books are bland and uninvoling whilst Web Design is almost an inspiration within itself, combining modern graphics with information to increase the reader's interest.

I couldn't praise this book enough until a week ago when I found my site was not working properly. But I remembered that in the book the author said that if you had any problems then he would be glad enough to help. So I emailed Michael Baumgardt, and within a day or so he responded with a clear and assured answer to my problem. How about that!

GoLive is such a large program that it would be silly to not purchase a book to be made aware of its best features. With so many on the market it would be easy to make a mistake, and I am glad to say that this truly deserves attention and praise, for it doesn't hide away from the blatant difficulties in designing a site, but instead tackles the nitty, gritty to prosper triumphantly (sure I'm being a bit dramatic, but I can't tell you how much I have learnt from this book). It is invaluble.

Summary: An excellent introduction to web design basics.
Review: Michael Baumgardt's Adobe Photoshop 5.5 Web Design provides an important key to using the Photoshop 5.5 version with ImageReady 2 for maximum web design capabilities. From using a digital camera with the programs to fine-tuning editing and transferring the results to the web, this provides excellent web design basics.

Summary: Is this book about "web design" .... ?
Review: This book have only a little bit tutorial using photoshop for web design. Most of the content of the book is mainly about jpeg.. gif compression and all those theory stuff.

Summary: I love this book too!
Review: This book is easy to understand with lots of good information. I am very visual, and it is full of color graphics to make me want to read it. There is a bit more technical information than I want concerning many technical aspects of the programs ....but all in all I am able to find what I want ...indexed under terms that are familiar to me.

It has been a good introduction to familiarize myself with the interactions of photoshop/image ready/go live.

Summary: Excellent Book..Right to the Point
Review: This book rocks! The format is very easy to follow, whether the author is talking about something basic or advanced. I am new to this field and found the explanations short and snappy & the graphics visually stunning. He covers many areas and answers many of the unknowns that I was trying to fill when it comes to using this software. Fantastic explanations when it comes to web graphics, the correct colors, style and the do's and don'ts of web site building. This book is definitely worth the price.

Summary: Absolutely awesome!
Review: This is the best overall book that I've read on web design with Photoshop! I've learned a tons of useful tips and tricks, as well as reading about the fundamentals of web graphics. I couldn't put this book down, and have recommended it to several friends. The color illustrations throughout the book and the interviews with established web designers make this book a must-have for any web designer's library.
