Summary: A reader's review
Review: The book contains a good coverage of the material related to video buffer and timestamps. This book deals with the intricacies of the video transport and it presents separate sections on key components of video transport and topics on vdieo system design like buffer management, multiplexing, system timing and other issues on transmission of coded video. Author provides a good reference on the MPEG-2 video transport system.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good book, but over priced
Review: The book is good because no one provided many details as given in this book. But just as other Kluwer books, it is over-priced.

Summary: A reader's review
Review: The books included many good contents on MPEG-2 transport, such as how to generate timestamps and to perform video buffer management. It is quite useful! At least, I learned and it helped my work.

Summary: This topic should be taught in the school!
Review: There are many books discussing MPEG video compression. But very few of them actually teach about how to transport compressed video. This book has a reasonably in-depth presentation and coverage of principles and methods on synchronization, buffer management, rate control, time-stamping of compressed video with good examples and applications.

Summary: Average and overpriced
Review: This book offers a good intro for someone just entering the field of digital video transport; however, for a well exposed individual operating in this space, it is weak. As my background is in digital signal processing and comm systems, I have read and seen better materials, because of this I have to consider it as extremely overpriced. Its worth in my opinion is at most $80.00.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An interesting reference book
Review: This is a good reference for students to understand issues in the MPEG-2 video transport process.
