Review: As with any exam cram book you should complement your preparation with the hands on usage of a real dababase even if its a personal edition. If you practice all terms described in the book you should have no trouble passing the Oracle8i exam.

Review: Even today i refer this book, it serves both as a reference book and exam guide. I just cleared my Oracle exam, and tell you what this has been on my table for those long nights.Thanks peter, great job

Summary: Good book but more information needed.
Review: I used only this book to prepare for the Architecture and Admin test. However, I used a different source to test myself. I find Pete's chapter questions as well the sample test are too simple and do not reflect the actual level of complexity of questions in the test. I passed the exam quite easily but for those who do not possess adequate hands on experience with Oracle8i, this book by itself wont do. On the other hand, those who merely need to brush up can effectively use just this book alone.

Summary: Wonderful Studying Tool!
Review: I used this book in combination with Self Test Software's 1Z0-023 Study Exams, and passed with over 85% on the first try. This book is very well written and easy to follow. The example questions at the end of the chapter touch on the main topics that appeared on my exam. The included study cram card at the front of the book also brushed upon many of the topics that are a must to know. The study card was a wonderful way to jog my memory just before taking the test. A must read!

Summary: Darned good OCP Book
Review: Pete has done a great job in this rewrite of the 8i book. He describes Oracle in such a way that the reader will have no problem with passing the OCP exam. In addition, the book will do well to sit on ones bookshelf as a reference guide. This is Pete's first effort at writing a book and to that I say, well done!
