Rating: Summary: Dorothy has clicked her ruby red slippers Review: At the time I purchased and read Dorothy's book, I was sweating out the 529 exam and the tough requirements Novell Education had placed on a CNI maintaining his/her certifications. A fellow CNI in Tucson, well mannered, clean cut, sharp Novell troubleshooter and once a 'fellow instructor' had just emailed me that he had failed to pass the 529 exam at the CNI level. (This was the FIRST time this guy had EVER failed a NetWare test, after taking 50 plus exams!) Needless to say, his comments about how unfair Novell Education was, about the tracking down of 'missing' material to address test questions appearing 'out of the blue' and his uncomfortable position of being scheduled as a 529 class instructor being in very much in doubt as the class date approached, did not do much for my own 529 test preparation.Dorothy's book changed all of this. I had passengers read me questions from each chapter as I dispatched them to various locations. I continue to use many of those questions (and the answers) in my day to day endeavor of getting rational people to stop taking 'blue pills'. I obtain audience interaction with them in the Novell related seminars I'm contracted to perform. Using Dorothy's material, I've become a better instructor in all of the Novell classroom presentations I'm involved in. I promote this book to everyone I meet that is truely interested in the NetWare CNE certification and I am happy to say that the number in this category is growing. I passed that 529 exam. First time. Thank you Dorothy! Your my secret weapon and I'll carry it everywhere. Keep doing what you are doing. Yours in Service, John Holmgren MCNE MCNI ASE NCS
Rating: Summary: For experenced engineers only Review: I found this book only helpful if you have an indepth knoledge of Novell 4.11. I took so long on my studies of Novell 4 that when I took the 50-640 test, I failed it because of quite a few topic that were dismissed as "known" or in other refence material.
Rating: Summary: Very complete Review: Though it does have a few typos in the text, I have found this book to be written concisely and it packs alot of information in each chapter. Great for a CNE that wants to certify on Netware 5
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Cram style guide Review: Use this book if you already know Netware, but require an update to your CNE.
