Review: This book is excellent for anyone wanting to get into GoLive and really make it work. Since going through the book and using the additions from the web site I have more than doubled my output capabilities with GoLive. Some complain about no CD but all you really need is your own creativity and the money (which is well spent) to buy this book.

Review: This is essentially a good reference book and should be evaluated on the intentions of the authors. I would say this book is for intermediate level and above readers. There are many good tips, work arounds and practical advice for each of the GoLive features. My reservations for it are largely idiosyncratic. I have come to the point of learning so many computer programs through manuals that I shudder on taking on a new program. Plodding through manuals tends to be tedious & dull. An important element in technical writing is making the information process user friendly. I agree with others that a book like this can be greatly helped with Quicktime movies, hands on tutorials for complex procedures etc. Lynda Weinman is a good example of a Web expert who can make learning less laborious by weaving together instruction with hands on tutorials and illustrations. Adobe GoLive lacks a guide that combines in-depth instruction with user friendly didactic creativity.
