Photoshop 4 for Macs for Dummies teaches you how to use Photoshop's paint, drawing, and selection tools, and the last section features an introduction to layers, color options, and text effects. Several four-color pages show Photoshop images and tell a bit about the editing techniques the artists used. It's hard to write an introductory book for such complex software, but these writers have done it. They're funny too, which helps if you're particularly daunted by the prospect of learning Photoshop.
