Summary: A PowerPoint "graduation" present...
Review: David's clear, straight-forward style and fabulous templates take the "uh oh" out of putting your ideas forward. I wish this had been around when I did my own manual...a Herculean effort at PowerPoint over vertical text...in basic black. This book belongs in the tool-kit of all speaking/consulting free agents.

Summary: Easy to use even for a former fighter pilot
Review: I'm pretty proficient using Adobe Photoshop but after reading and using David Humes' Photoshop EZ, I now consider myself an expert! Whether it is something as simple as eliminating "red eye" from a digital picture to cropping a subject in a JPG, to producing a good quality print from your digital camera, David covers the subject in a simple and straight-forward way that even a former fighter pilot like me can understand. This is a must buy for anyone who uses digital media in their work. Thanks, David, for a great piece of work!

Summary: The author here...
Review: If you are already using and understand Photoshop, this book is not for you, although you'll likely pick SOMEthing up, I'm sure. It's designed for new Photoshop users who just want to employ the Top-40 most requested techniques in a user friendly, "get it done now without having to know any more than you have to" fashion.

I've read over 14 books on Photoshop and have taught hundreds of Photoshop seminars to thousands of attendees in 48 states and throughout Canada. It is this training experience with these attendees that led me to write THIS BOOK. It's not trying to compete with other more advanced Photoshop books. In fact I recommend several other excellent Photoshop books on my web site.

The resource many attendees told me they didn't have was - TIME: they don't want to read any more than they had to. They just want to go to a book, find the technique they want to do in the table of contents, turn to that page and DO THE TECHNIQUE.

They also told me that they want to UNDERSTAND how layers (chapter 18) and selections (chapter 19) work, as well as a solid understanding of what Photoshop is (bonus chapter B), what file formats to use in different situations (bonus chapter A), how to determine the ideal scanning resolution and resolution needed for quality printing or the web (chapter 5 & 6), what resolution is and how to change the resolution, etc.

Of course, how to fix "red-eye" (or change the color of ANYthing) (chapter 21) and the ever popular collage (several techniques for combining parts of one or more pictures with another picture - chapter 20), as well as the other most popular techniques are covered.

If this is of interest to you, please buy this book now; you will not be disappointed. If this is NOT of interest to you and you already understand Photoshop or you want more advanced information, don't buy this book. What ever you do: Happy Photoshopping!

Summary: Clear, precise, detailed
Review: Listening to David Humes talk about Photoshop allows me to think the topic and all the details of Photoshop are in fact easy to accomplish. He explains each of the concepts thoroughly and then elaborates in detail so that even the fine points are clear and manageable by me, and I am not one who "gets all the technology stuff" easily. Now David has written it down in the same clear precise oral style but with the visual detail added to make the concepts and fine points even clearer. If you need help with Photoshop then this is the place to get it.

Summary: YES!...YES!...YES!!!!!
Review: THANK YOU DAVID HUMES!

FINALLY, a photoshop book that doesn't require me to be a Techno-Geek! All I want to do is "fix" my photos, and NOW I CAN! David Humes takes all that "foreign technical talk", and turns it into REAL WORDS that even my mother can understand!

I've been having a lot of fun putting pictures of my sister on backgrounds of places she's never been, or would never go! (ha!)

This year, my family's Christmas picture won't show us in front of our house in Arizona....Thanks to Photoshop EZ: Top-40 Most Requested Techniques Even YOU Can DO!, we'll be standing in front of Santas Workshop!! ...with Santa and his reindeer too!

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!

Summary: Thumbs Down!
Review: The book was just okay. There are many other better ones for Photoshop.

For such a mediocre book, I was surprised to see 5-star reviews from all 6 reviewers so I clicked through to see their other reviews. Why do all the reviewers for this book have no other reviews?

I smell a skunk. I suspect the author put them up to it.
