Review: I find this book so easy to read and understand. Its exciting to make my chatbots finally speak on webpages, using the codes in this book.
I was able to contact the author too, but had to use google to find her. The website mentioned in the book is no longer controlled by her. I think her email is monigarr@yahoo.com
She gave me some advice to more recent open source solutions. She said she wrote this book in 2001. Boy, is she way ahead of her time. I am getting impatient waiting for her next book, but she says it will be available soon.

Summary: my chatbots are up fast
Review: I got my first chatbot online within 2 days. this book is pretty short but gives the information I needed to have my own chatbots online fast which impressed the boss. The author was very helpful too when I contacted her for fast coding help.

Summary: Unique Codes
Review: I have been searching everywhere for help to integrate msagent with chatbots. This is the first book I've found for this topic that gives step by step instructions and codes for real world applications.
I am unable to find similar codes and easy to understand instructions on any other websites or books. I have been searching for a few years for specific codes and solutions on the open-source websites, without any luck. I am surprised to find this book was published a few years ago, before most people were even thinking about these technologies.
It was a little tough to find the author because it seems her website is now Monigarr.com and not the website mentioned in the book. I had to use google to find her new website and contact information.
I can't wait until this author publishes her next book about bots and speech technologies. She has been helping me to develop a CRM solution using artificial intelligence, chatbot, and speech technologies. I can't find a more experienced and friendly programmer for chatbot and speech technologies, than the author of this book.
She's helped me to develop innovative technology solutions, while bringing my own skill levels far above average. I am expecting a raise soon, thanks to this book and author.
The author also has pointed me to other book authors and programmers that are able to assist me with my projects. I am fortunate to finally find this book, only wish I had found it sooner.

Summary: my chatbots are up fast
Review: Not for people looking a way to have specific knowledge oriented chat bots. If you are looking for an introduction to chat bots or HOW-TO's of AIML language maybe this is not for you either. The book is successful in presenting the best available tools to create a web chat bot as human as possible with a general common knowledge ...). It describes how to make a quick setup of each of the tools, in such a proper way to have them up and running as quickly as possible although it could get too technical at moments for unexperienced web administrators. It gives useful links to get a deeper insight into the subject. I think the best of it is how Monica takes a glimpse of the future applications of this new generation of virtual humans. This really can help to feed your imagination. Kind of short in contents but still useful. More to come as it is a first volumen from a series.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: The author is well qualified to write this book, but I feel she is writing only for code jockeys. I work in this field and found the book incomprehensible. Clearly some people find the codes very useful, but my one star reflects the books overall value. It is basically uneditied set of personal notes written in a highly esoteric manner. There appears to be no professional editing or formatting. I bought the book because the title makes it look like anyone can create an army of webbots after reading it. If you're not a gifted programmer with specialized knowledge in this field, forget it. I feel bad writing this because I know the author who is a truly fine and brillian person.

Summary: Great Codes !
Review: the codes to add voice reco to my chatbots are the best ! this book also did a great job in presenting the tools to create chatbots fast. I got 3 girl bots running on aol within a few hours. Monica's ideas for how to use chatbots have me thinking of hundreds of possibilities for more work.
