Rating: Summary: the ease of computers Review: Overall, I love the ease of using the computers to structure/maintain our academics. The subjects challenge the children with less of my time needed for paperwork/planning.My only personal quirk is that I wish SOS approached history and science in a more chronological fashion, rather than the disjointed program that is now considered "traditional." In spite of this criticism, I must add fairly that my children love both of these subjects.

Rating: Summary: Switched on Schoolhouse Review: This program for home schoolers is absolutely a lifesaver! The program material is comprehensive and relevant and the program itself does all of the tedious work of setting up the lesson plan, grading, and sending work back to be redone. It has freed up so much time that we actually have time for all those fun field trips that were supposed to be a part of this whole homeschool deal!
Rating: Summary: SOS 2.0 Review: We have been using SOS for three years. We began with the version before 2.0 and were very pleased with it. We would rate it five stars. This year, we purchased History and Chemistry 11th grade 2.0. We were put off immediately when we found that my computer (where it had worked fine before) did not have enough ram, the right windows version, etc. So I installed it on our more up-to-date computer with a minimum of fuss, but when I went to set up the subjects, etc., I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that, instead of making it simpler, it was actually more difficult. I had been working on it for three days and had completed 3/4 of a unit when we found out that the new and improved SOS 'server' was leaking information through our internet. Add the fact that you can no longer simply save your work to a floppy disk-it's too large, and there were several errors (on their part) in the chemistry problem sets, and suffice to say that we weren't happy with this 'new and improved' SOS 2.0.
