Rating: Summary: Great 'real world' image manipulation title Review: I was drawn to this title by the author, whose title Secrets of the Digital Darkroom has become a favorite of mine. Though this is by a different publisher and has a different co-author it is, in a sense a great companion volume. Where Secrets is more focused on overt manipulation, this title is more effective at teaching the basic conceptual approach. Out of necessity this can be the less visually appealling area but the authors have succeeded in delivering inspirational images that we could all similarly achieve. It is so offputting for many beginners in digital photography to compare their modest efforts with those shown in a book. Here the jaw dropping stunning images are eschewed in favor of great quality photos that we might all take with just a little help.
Final here's a request of the author, Pete Cope. I like your books, I love your style. But how about a book on using cameras? That's one this family will pre order from you!
