Rating: Summary: bad editing Review: I am currently reading this book, but am dismayed at the horrible editing. A prime example is the inability of the editor to remember the various military ranks of the Mechwarriors, sometimes calling them Star Captain and other times Star Commander, along with many spelling errors-probably the worst editing I have ever seen
Rating: Summary: One of Pardoe best works! Review: I have long awaited a book in the Battletech Universe that focused Mainly on the Clan I play, the Ghost Bears. I personally believe there could not have been a better author to do the job. I feel Blaine gave good back ground and story flow to the book with good descriptions of Battle that have lacked from some Battletech books (Some of Stackpole's work has lacked in this area lately), without bogging the story down. The only thing I could find wrong was the occasional typo that had slipped past editing. Other than that, I highly Recommend this Book!
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I read this book and man Blaine Lee pardo can really make you wish the battletech universe was real. You follow the story of Angela Bekker a clan ghost bear ristar. She is orderd by the kahn to hand pick a trinary to deffend Toffen, the second closet plannet to terra in ghost bear territory. Now you can see why some other clan like wolf might like it. Really good a Must read book. I'd give if 6 stars if I could.
Rating: Summary: Awesome book! Review: I thought that was an cool book. I wish that there were more Mech Warrior books written by the same author. Even though that all of the characters were kind of hard to follow.
Rating: Summary: the destruction comes to life Review: i, like many people have always loved the mechwarrior computer games, but they were always just that, games. now with the realease of roar of honor you almost feel like your on the battle field fighting for survial along with your fellow warriors. This is the type of book where you can sit at home imagining that you are on toffen stalking through the woods looking for a blood drinker/wolf and ready to strike with your star.
Rating: Summary: Ghost Bears Recognized Review: It is about time someone gave credit to one of the most under-represented people in Battletech: Clan Ghost Bear! This book definitely does justice to my personal favorite of all the groups in Battletech. A must-read for all fans of the Clans and other Battletech followers alike!
Rating: Summary: Clan warfare at its best. Review: Pardoe presents a novel based on Clan Ghost Bear that has everything you'd expect from a book about Clan warfare. He features well outlined characters (for btech novel standards), a grim competetion between 2 Clans/2 mech forces/2 elite clan mechwarriors, and a plot with intruiging twists and interesting informations about the long neglected Ghost Bear Dominion. The fighting scenes are solid, and both sides receive ample credit, and not the typical 'one side rox, one side blows' clichees found in so many btech novels. Personally I especially liked the fight ensuing from the ambush laid by SCom Constant Tseng's star, cuz it showed in a brilliant manner how clan RoE works and can be used to own advantage. With this book, Pardoe rejuvenated the true spirit of clan society, and I only hope, that whoever is responsible for the Btech story and timeline plot, doesnt erase this amazing aspect of the btech universe. Last, but not least, I woulda given this book 5 stars, if not for some blunt errors bout CGB... Goddam, CGB didnt accomplish a draw on Tukayid, they WON their separate campaign against ComStar...(okay, I admit, I'm a long time CGB fan *grin*)
Rating: Summary: It's Time For The Ghost Bears To Stand and Be Counted! Review: Star Captain Angela Bekker is a ristar -- a rising star in her clan. A genetically bred warrior, her call has always been to duty and to honor. When posted to Toffen and given the chance to form a new unit, she buries herself in her duties. But when the Wolf Clan arrives and attempts to wrestle the world from the Ghost Bears Dominion, she must go beyond her training, beyond her experience, and beyond her genetic breeding. She must become the ultimate warrior, leader, and embrace the Ghost Bears Roar of Honor.
Rating: Summary: Clan war at its best Review: The new defenders on a planet in the Ghost Bear territory is a small, green unit, with freebirths. But they get thrown in a battle with the toughest Clan Wolf unit ever made. This is a great book with, nonstop action that doesnt get u time to breath. Pardoe shows the clans in a way never been shown before. Ive been reading btech for a long time and this is my first mechwarrior book but is as good as stackpole's old books in btech. I recomend this book to everyone that can read! LOL!
Rating: Summary: A real winner! Review: This book has both a little history, and some action, which makes it really fun to read. There are a few spelling errors and some slight detail errors but other than that it was written perfectly! More detail should have gone into the ending though. For example, what ever happened to Dolf? Anyway i would highly recomend this book to anyone here in the BattleTech Universe!
