Summary: A fun, insightful spin on economic apocalypse theories.
Review: I found this book to be well written, clear, concise, and all around fun. The characters were straightfoward everyday people stuck in extraodinary cricumstances, yet prepared for those circumstances. Though it shouldn't be taken as an argument that an economic collapse will happen, it certainly serves as a both an enlightening scenario of what that callapse might look like, and what to do in general in preparation for some kind of serious economic trouble.

Summary: MOVE OVER CLANCEY
Review: An absolutely spell binding novel, from the first words to the final chapters of the book. I could not put it down. The book portrays a possible scenero of future events that is technically accurate. The United States suffers a devastating financial collapse, with the power grid, water service, and agriculture system failing along with it. Combined with today's news reports, it's becoming more and more believable. My hat is off to Rawles, showing how that with faith, tenacity, and morallity a group of individuals can survive, prosper and grow, living so that they can share their dreams of freedom with another generation. You need to be talking to Mel Gibson!

Summary: Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse
Review: A top-notch book, and I've read a lot of them. Information is very valuable by itself, and the story was captivating. Hit me right where I live. All my friends read it too and raved about it. All is somewhere in the realm of posibility.

Summary: An Ounce of Prevention...
Review: Regardless of whether you favor the particular "doomsday" scenario proffered by the author, "Patriots" is an interesting speculation on what can happen after the thin veneer of civilized behavior is removed from our society.

The novel advocates (and profusely illustrates) preparedness as the ultimate insurance policy. This book is not in the vein of Jerry Ahern's "Survivalist" series, which is rife with super-heroics, spy-sci-fi and non-stop action. This is a story of ordinary citizens who make extraordinary preparations in order to remove themselves, as much as possible, from the maelstrom of post-collapse urban chaos.

After you deface your own copy with margin notes and fluorescent markings from your HI-LITERĀ® you may want to get a fresh copy to loan to your friends!

Summary: Patriot should be in your Must Read collection.
Review: If you are aware enough to "know that you do not know" Patriot will entertain, educate, and stimulate you to seek more knowledge and expertise in all areas of self preservation.

A Must Read for those who understand that when it comes to our lives and the lives of our loved ones, we can never be too prepared.

Summary: Patriots - A Wealth of Information
Review: In this book, James Wesley Rawles has writting an excellent and informative survival guide in the form of a fictional novel. I have read the book several times and pick up something new each time I've read it. Although this book is instructional, it's fast paced and very entertaining as well. This book is reminicent of Larry Nivens' book Lucifer's Hammer and like Lucifer's Hammer will enlighten you as to how far south society as we know has the potential to go.

Summary: A must read
Review: As a fellow author it is good to read a book with so much how to information in the story. People need to realize that our system can fall apart and being prepared is the best insurance policy you can own. A great review of proper firearms, training and how to survive.

Summary: Look no further, this is the book.
Review: This is a True Patriots book. From the first chapter to the last, this book will keep you on the edge like no other. The characters are average everyday citizens like you and me. They believe in the Constitution and what it stands for and are willing to fight and die for it. If you have ever wondered what the collapse of the United States may look like, look no further that this book. It's chilling and believable. A must read for Survivalists...

Summary: A sincere wish for those in search of a spine.....
Review: The message in this book is loud and very clear, freedom is not free. We will pay dearly for our complacency, avarice, greed, and selfishness in the future.

From a preparedness and military operations point of view, this book is well founded in actual theory and concepts. I would recommend it to anyone who is having nagging doubts that 'all is well - just keep your eye on the ticker and everything will be just fine.

To the scoffers and doubters, just remember this is exactly what civilians went through in the Civil War (carpet baggers et al.), and indeed what our founding fathers went through. The book clearly is issuing the challenge -- what kind of man are you? Would a real man not defend and provide the best way possible for his family?
