Summary: Two books in one......its a good novel and a great text book
Review: The story line in 'Patriots' was not actually
'classic' literature, but hey.....it was a very interesting
light read, it was hard to put down. It was actually
quite scary with the way the economy is now and after
Sept 11th. The 'text book' part which is behind the book was
excellent. I have already reccomended this book to several people who have all enjoyed it (and learned from it) as well.

Summary: Hard to put this one down!
Review: Patriots was an excellant book for both entertainment and practical preparedness information. I had a hard time putting it down. I enjoyed it so much and thought the information it contained was so good I bought 4 more copies to give to friends! I read it a second time a year later, and still use it for reference. I highly recommend it to those who have an interest in preparedness, and enjoy "adventure" novels.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Refreshing and Soul Satisfying
Review: Once every few years I read a treatise I actually appreciate.
This offering is one of those few.
I have read it 4 times so far and it will remain at the front of my bookcase.
I have given it to several friends and they took the time to call and say "Thank You!"

I strongly suggest you try this one on for size!

Summary: Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse
Review: One of the best books I have ever read. Very glad to have it in my collection, and recommend it highly to anyone, especially those who have concerns for America.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: When the going gets tough, the prepared will survive.
Review: This book gives good practical information on how to prepare for collapse of governmental order and also disaster from natural or man made circumstances such as a terrorist attack. All people should have a basic level of preparedness or more which is outlined in this book. America is a country of independent minded people who don't want to be controlled by a central government.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Refreshingly honest
Review: A modern classic that deals with many of the taboo's that prevents honest views of the possible future for America. Mr Rawles deals openly and honestly with issues that would have to be faced up to if a collapse of US society was followed by a knee jerk governmental reaction . The collapse could have been just as easily the governments reaction to the attack on the WTC, as it could be financially motivated by the US stock market collapse. The story line is frighteningly plausable, and the insight into the average americans psyche is brutally honest,I could not put the book down and it has altered my view on survivalism / preparedness to a great degree. Is this author the new Pat Frank for the 21st century.I only hope he has the forsite to follow up the story with a follow up.

Summary: Hard to follow
Review: I started reading this book a couple of weeks ago, it was recommended to me by a friend. I find it very hard to understand and quite boring. I have been skipping chapters trying to get to one that makes some sense. Does anyone else agree or disagree with me, I would like to know. This may be a minor thing but it is also hard to keep the darn book open to read it.

Summary: LiberalandProud
Review: You should read this book to understand the mind of the Libertarian. They are nuts! This book has more descriptions of firearms than it does for the characters.
On the interested side, it did have a section on every facet of their paranoia.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: a plausible scenario
Review: A good read with one of several plausible scenarios. I am dubious regarding the actual civil war. I know many good christians who would rather die than take the the life of another. The stock market evaluations are believable in these worrisome times, however I believe in the might and power of the American economy coupled with technology will avert the real disaster, which I believe to be better predicted in a more accurate and timely basis in Jerry Furlands work, "Transfer: the end of the beginning." Both books however are good investments in time and money for all those concerned with situational awareness.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: He should have written a textbook.
Review: While this book does contain a lot of good information on survival equipment and planning, the story is not done well. The characters are so underdeveloped that it was difficult to differentiate them while reading this book. The plot seems to be merely a framework for bragging about how wonderfully prepared for any eventuality the characters were. The information in this book would have been much more organized and easier to find and use if Mr. Rawles had simply written a textbook.
