Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A little help
Review: I have developped com objects for a while and have decided to migrate to Visual Basic. I found this book vague, but well written. Not enough practical material was covered. Much more attention to detail would've made this book better.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Laying the Groundwork
Review: This book provides a good overview of the techniques you will need to utilize COM and COM+ functionality in Visual Basic. The sample programs actually work, unlike many similar books, and everything is explained in reasonable detail.

The one problem I have with this book is that the author chose to include information on the IMDB, which he knew at the time would not be included in the release version of Win2000. It is a little frustrating to see what could have been and also takes up pages that could have been devoted to more detail about the Component Services system.

If you've used Classes in VB, you know all you need to know to start taking advantage of the secrets this book will reveal to you.
