Summary: A must for ABAPers and Functionals Analysts
Review: It is a comprehensive users' guide to interfacing technology of both ALE and EDI for all ABAPers and Functional consultants. By understanding this book you can easily build needed interfaces. This book will help junior SAPers/Functional Analysts increase and Strengthen their skills set for better Marketability and job well-done. It will teach senior SAPers better Techniques in building their assigned interfaces. The attached CD has lots of goodies and re usable codes. Beleive it or not, this book is a lot cheaper and cover a lot more information than the 2 days ALE/EDI course I've attended in the past. It was agravating that version 4.0 and 4.5 features are missing BUT these features can be located in the Release 4.5 Delta Information Session CD.

Review: It was a quick read. It is much better than trying to learn ALE from the online help, but it really doesn't contain any additional information. The nice features from version 4.0 and 4.5 are missing. The book is dated from the day you buy it.

Review: Mr. Kasturi presents the ever confusing world of SAP EDI and ALE in a very simple manner. His penchant for using "honking big images" really helps out as he takes you through the configuration steps required to get ALE/EDI up and running on your SAP system.I have used this book on project after project to help enable EDI and each time it fulfills it's purpose perfectly. Summary: Superb ALE/EDI guide and reference manual
Review: Rarely does one find a book on SAP that is not only easy to learn from but also a breeze to apply. The author has done an excellent job of formatting the book and explaining fundamentals while demonstrating through real life examples. The table of contents of this book is itself like a to-do list for constructing interfaces! Workflow for ALE & EDI is explained as well! Check out Chapter 4 on IDOC extensions and Chapter 7 on Periodic processing. Excellent reference material in the form of a tutorial. Wish I had this book earlier! Good job!

Summary: Well structured, easy-to-learn and reference
Review: The material presented in the book and CD-ROM has been well thought out and very well structured with the reader in mind. Good source for learning and reference two super technologies of SAP. I especially liked the section on creating ALE interface from scratch. Presentation is excellent. I recommend it to all SAP professionals.

Summary: Most practical ALE-EDI book...no fluff....
Review: The previous reviewer seems to be too caught up with the number of pages of the book. What is more important and critical is the CONTENTS of the book. I found this book by Rajeev deliver a great deal of content and expertise in precise step-by-step details without any fluff! I have been using this book and CDRom in the ALE project to great benefit and this has helped me provide efficient solutions to the client. Javed.
