Summary: Great for the beginner or experienced accounting person..
Review: As a trainer in the computer field, I would highly recommend the approach in this book. Quite often, books either aim too high or too low in content and clarity.This book presents accounting using Quickbooks in a manner enabling the user to grasp not only software usage, but a simplified approach to accounting. This is ideal for the new business startup. I would recommend this book to both the novice and experienced user.

Summary: For beginners only?
Review: Based on the other reviews here, I was expecting great things from this book. I'd just started a job that requires me to use QB all the time and felt that I needed something more than the instruction my predecessor was giving me. But now that I've received and read this book, everything it covers seems ridiculously elementary. I still feel like I could use more info about the software--like how to use QB in combination with MS Excel and a better explanation of how to get what you need using filters--as well as more on basic accounting principles. I also think it's overpriced, considering it's a paperback and poorly edited.

Summary: A bit disappointing
Review: I found the book to be a bit disappointing. I had difficulties applying some of the examples to my own questions. It was not very well edited, and I felt it was overpriced, considering that it was on the thin side and looked kind of home-made. I learn software programs quickly and have taught courses on Lotus 123 and other programs, so I don't think I have a learning problem. I will definitely have to get another book on using QuickBooks from an accounting perspective.

Taking Gregg's overview class and relying on this textbook afterward have made all the difference between chaos and discipline.
