Rating: Summary: Very Good Book !!! - No End Of Chapter Questions ?!! Review: I've used this Book for the test. The Material is Well Covered. Only Problem is You have to Buy the Sample Questions for about 70+ $$ to See How Good You Know the Material, No End Of Chapter Questions for Review. But I recomend It for the Exam and as a Referernce.
Rating: Summary: I passed the A+ exam with this book. Review: Many incorrect answers were found in the practice exams
Rating: Summary: Not the perfect guide that you need to be A+ Certified Review: A book without a summary at the end of each chapter? A book without Practice exercises or questions at the end of each chapter? Without a glossary of terms at the final of the book? A book without a focus about what exactly will be tested in the A+TEST? A book that dedicate only 37 (of 833)pages to Windows 95? (W95 is 75 percent of the OS TEST) 500 practice questions that cost the double of book price? (That's the business of Mr. Meyers.) OK, is a good computer reference book, but not the exact or the perfect guide that you need to be A+ CERTIFIED. Or you take A+ Preparation courses or complement this book with other A+ training Kit. That's the True, that's the reality. Sorry Mr. Meyers.
Rating: Summary: A very in-depth yet easy to read book. Review: I already had a lot of computer experience prior to buying this book. Nonetheless, I learned a lot from reading this book. Michael Myers does a good job of taking computer technical jargon and writing it in laymans english. Plus the practice exams are a real help. After reading the book and practicing the exams I passed both the Core and the Dos exam in my first try.
Rating: Summary: Great ref. book, explains things clearly, great pictures Review: This is a great book for someone with little comp. hardware and software exper. There is a ton of good info in this book. But i found when studying for this test I only wanted to learn what pertained to the test. So I did read this book from cover to cover, but then i purchased a test question book (A+ Test Prep by BERG). I found to go through a prep book using M.Myers book as reference was more a more productive why to study. I went through this test prep book 4 time took the test got a 84 on hardware and 74 on software.
Rating: Summary: Great Book but some errors... Review: This is the one and only book you will need for the one reason that it covers the core and DOS/Windows Modules. This book is also highly updated for PII-400MHz. WOW!!!
Rating: Summary: Very good tool Review: Two months ago, I was scrolling through this page trying to decide which A+ study guide to buy. I finally decided on this one, and I think it was a good choice.I used this book as my "main" study guide, and passed the A+ (87 and 84) after two months of studying (coming from an intermediate skills level). I agree with some past reviewers that this book does an excellent job, but will often get sidetracked on tangents instead of focusing on what you really need to know to pass. Also the lack of any summaries, questions, or recaps at the end of the chapters was suprising. I used a second book "Managing and Maintaining your PC" by Jean Andrews as a backup. With four questions on AT modem commands on the A+, I'm glad the Andrews book had a chart on them, while Meyers' book didn't mention it. I also think the chapter on electrical testing was lacking. I was completely lost with the A+'s two very similar questions on the subject. But, it was a good tool and I would recommend it. Hey, none of these books are perfect, but this one comes close!
Rating: Summary: The only book you will need Review: Excellent study guide for the A+ exam. I passed the test with a 93
Rating: Summary: FRENCH VERSION ? Review: WOULD LIKE TO PREPARE THE A+CERTIFICATION , BUT DONT KNOW WHERE CAN I FIND IT IN FRENCH.
Rating: Summary: Has all you need to know to pass the exam! Review: I teach A+ Certification at a High School using this book. This book is very detailed and gives you all the information you need to pass both parts. Has lot of pictures and illustration that my students found helpful. If you're using this in a educational environment, Mike Myers also has a set of videos that goes with this book.
