Summary: Great
Review: It is the best A+ book in the market. No matter you are beginner or expert, it is a must you should own this book for your study or reference.

It covers all the necessary things for the A+ certification.

Anyway, the most important thing is I passed the exam with this book.

Summary: NOT up-to-date!
Review: The book provides good explanations and drawings. The "dramatization" of examples is TOO elaborate. Does not get to the point immediately, but dances around it for hours before a definition is given. Definitions of terms, parts, etc., are not very clear. They are, actuall, lost in the realm of elaborate drawings. Information in NOT up-to-date. The number of questions provided are very few and not sufficient to cover the expandness of the material. You have to PAY extra for more questions by paying for a code to "unleash" this "hidden treasure", which is a CHEAP shot on part of the author.

Summary: this book is by far the best, for experts and novices
Review: this book is addictive, as much as a thriller: I am thrilled to learn everything there is in this book. I have been reading it for four days and I blew through it. this is the one to buy...

Summary: Too much information about nothing
Review: This book is so full of meaningless pictures and bad information. I paid way too much for the book and the CD was worthless. For half the price I bought another A+ book that cut to the point and was almost half the size.

Summary: I am looking for some good questions that can be helpful.
Review: I have the book now and after 2 weeks will do the first test, infarct I have got 5 weeks to read for the first A+ exam . I wonder what are the most important points that can come in the first test since it is hard to remember every things, you can use my address if you would like to send me some questions. Summary: FANTASTIC
Review: I would like to give Mr. Micheal Meyers an A+ for a gem of a book. I passed both the Core exam and the DOS/Windows exam on the first try with the same score, 79. The A+ Certification Exam Guide , my IBM owner's manual and Upgrading and Repairing Your PC by Aubrey Pilgrim have been my test preparation materials. My personal experience in hardware configuration , repair and maintenance has been limited to snapping in a couple of cards and typing a:\setup. This is a great book for computer owners and professional technicians alike. It has large easy to read type , is well illustrated , and uses common ordinary words and analogies that any one with a high school education can easily understand. The key to passing the exams with this book is to read it intensely , read it at least twice, and make sure you're clear by practicing on your own PC

Summary: Misinformation Abounds
Review: I found this book full of half truths and just completely wrong information. Only people who didn't know anything about computers to start with would buy and believe such a book. The CD-ROM program is the most poorly written piece of software I have ever seen, full of bugs. They also want something like $70 for the rest of the practice questions with the standard hardcover version. An A+ book should include practice questions as a matter of course, not make you pay extra for them. Be careful though, I have seen worse A+ books out there, and in a relative way, this one isn't so bad, but that is only because the rest of the field is total crap.

Summary: Author wants more money!!!
Review: Although it is an easy to read book, I was disappointed in the CD. The author wants more money ($79) for you to get password protected exams on the the supplied CD disk. It's bad enough that these certification books are high priced, the author should at least get the reader to pass the exams by supplying all the questions not just a small portion. His book would sell better.

Summary: The only book you need for the A+ exam!
Review: I worked as a computer tech for 8 months before thinking about A+ certification. I read the reviews on this book and ordered a copy(best thing I ever done). After reading this book, I felt more confident in my job...not to mention taking the A+ exams. I read through this book and utilized the cicprep exams, and in two weeks time passed both the core and dos/win exams. I fully recomend this book to anyone seeking A+ certification.

Summary: Highly Recommended
Review: This is THE MOST complete book for the A+ Exam I've read. Mike Meyers has written an exellent book that doesn't get too boring like most A+ study books. I only used this book and the A+ Exam Cram practice tests to study and pass the A+ exam.
