Summary: Good book to study..but needs some work! -- TOO MANY TYPOS
Review: This book was very easy to read. I was able to read the book with minimal difficulties(because of the typos), study, and take the test in less than (2)weeks. Word to the wise.....if you can get you hands on the Keystone videos, GET IT, it talks about some details that the book did not. Otherwise i recieved an 85 / 85 on both test the first time. GOOD LUCK GUYS

Summary: All you need to pass A+
Review: This book helped me pass Core and DOS/Windows with 92/93 % respectively and it's the only book you need to pass. Chapter on memory management is one of the best that I read so far on the subject! Reasons that I gave 4 stars instead of 5 are typos in the book and some over simplistic and redundant pictures. Overall GREAT book!

Summary: The DOS/Win Section is NOT incomplete!
Review: The Dos/Win section of Mr. Myers book is complete. That is, complete enough to pass the exam. If you feel you need to brush up on your Windows or Dos, buy the A+ Cram book by Corolis. It explains Dos/Win very well. Remember, no book will make you a tech. Real world experiences, and hands on training will ensure you know what you are doing. This book is THE BEST for A+. Thats also why it is the number one seller on Amazon for A+ guides. It reigns supreme.

Summary: If you want to UNDERSTAND and pass the test, read this book
Review: This book explains all the "whys" of the way the computer works, by refering back to the development of the PC. Most of the questions I had in playing around with my systems over the years were answered here. This book admittedly had some problems: There were some typos, some of the material was not completely up to date, and the tests on the CD were not great (There's plenty of good samples online). All in all its a great book. I read only this test prep (plus getting into my computer and checking things out), and got a 95 on the core and a 92 on the DOS/Windows. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great Book, but buy a DOS/Windows book too
Review: I found this book to be a great help as I prepared for the A+ Certification exams. Like most books of this type though the DOS/Windows section is a little on the lite side. Even the author recommends that you buy a good DOS book for advanced info and as a future reference. If you order the extra sample tests on the enclosed CD do so at least two weeks before you want to take your test so you get your credit voucher before you register for the tests.

Summary: Very concise. Leaves no "how...." in your mind.
Review: Mike Myers did one thing when he wrote this tome. He made A+ Certification obtainable for complete idiots. If you want to become certified, and are on a budget, buy this book and read it 4 or 5 times through until it is burned in your mind.

Now, if you are wanting A+ Certification status and are NOT on a budget. Buy this book, and assemble your own computer as you go. Trust me, you'll make enough mistakes, and really have a feel for what you are reading.

If this book is used this way, it makes more sense. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because there were some typos, and the modem AT command set he included was wrong. (Go to 3coms site and download that.)

Go to your local used PC store and buy Win 3.11 and MS DOS 6.22. Feel what it is like to use that horrible Windows version....

All in all. But this book if you want to BE a tech AND have a certification to boot. Buy another book if you only want the funky blue certificate.

Summary: CORE Section Great. DOS/Win Section a little weak.
Review: I pass both sections and am now certified. I recommend using this book along with another which focuses on the DOS/Win section. -:>Kevin C Philadelphia, PA

Summary: This book is a good book.
Review: I didn't know very much about the hardware of PC. This book is great for beginners. But I thought it lacked good information on DOS & WINDOWS Section. I recommend you study some other material on DOS&WINDOWS Section.

Summary: A Must For The Exam
Review: Mr. Meyer's book is a must for anyone who wants to pass. While I do not work in the IT business yet, this book has really prepared for my career change. Don't let the number of pages fool you - many pictures and great explanations really prepare you for the exam. A wonderful resource! Thanx to Mr. Meyers!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The only book you'll need........
Review: I studied Mike Meyer's "All In One A+ Certification Exam Guide" thoroughly, following his suggested study plan and passed the Core test with a 90% and the DOS/Win test with a 93%. This book is great, and if you study thoroughly, it's the only book you'll need to pass both exams. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to anyone interested in getting A+ certified.
