Rating: Summary: Strong contender for decade¿s least boring self study book Review: If like me you prefer to learn from someone who not only understands his subject thoroughly, has successfully taught it to mere mortals, and has actual hands-on experience in the real world where things can get messy despite your best endeavours, then you'll probably like this book very much indeed.Anthony Steven deploys wry, occasionally self-mocking humour sparingly and to excellent effect. You get the feeling that you're in the company of a person who likes and admires the system but is never in awe of it, and can therefore view and explain it with a measure of detachment. Jason vanValkenburgh (crazy name!) is clearly also hugely knowledgeable and very readable. Their respective styles compliment each other very well, and I would certainly be interested in learning of any previous or planned collaborations.
Rating: Summary: Excellent!!! Review: Read this book after wasting my time on another one. This book was very consise, easy to follow, and made sense of alot of questions I had. The author truly knows Exchange and better yet knows how to teach it... I even enjoyed his occassional British Humor. All in all, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who's serious about exchange. I will also look for other books by this author (who obviously understands the importance of detail and clarity). The only flaw I found personally was the title of the book.. Trying to get this 1000 page book done in 21 days will kill ya. :-)
Rating: Summary: Comprelo!
Rating: Summary: Exchange Server 5.5 for Dummies??? Review: This book covers only the very basic set-up features of Exchange Server. Most of the information here is easily learned just by using Exchange Server.
Rating: Summary: This is an excellent book I'd recommend to everyone. Review: This book is extremely good in that it covers in clear and easy-to-read text pretty much everything you could want to do with your Exchange server. It's well laid out and I'm currently using it to study for my final MCP as part of my MCSE. Lots of content (> 1000 pages), well written, examples and diagrams where appropriate... what more can you say? If you use Exchange 5.5 or are thinking of doing so, then you could do a heck of a lot worse than get a copy.
Rating: Summary: The fasted 900 pages I ever read. Review: This book is master piece on how to install/implement Exchange in to your organization in a short amount of time. Even if it just basics it has remarkable detailed descriptions on every subject. In short terms very good explanations on how you should plan to build up Exchange even checklist on what questions you should consider asking if talking to a ISP. This book has it all for beginner or experts. BUY IT it's worth every penny.
Rating: Summary: This is All-in-One to Starting & Implementing Exchange 5.5 Review: This book offers clear, pratical coverage of MS Exchange 5.5. The comprehensive instruction help me setup MS Exchange 5.5 in record time. Each chapter focuses on a practical, real-world skill, so you can read the book straight through, skip subjects you already know, or read chapters in the order that interest you. I am very thankful to the Authors and SAMS Monal Shah (B.E. Computer Science, MCSE)
Rating: Summary: Exchange Installation Made SIMPLE Review: This book was found to be invaluable during the installation and configuration of Exchange Server 5.5, as without it I would think most people would find getting Exchange to work rather difficult I did and I would like to think I'm not that computer illiterate. As with most MS products it not that easy, unless you know how. And this book gives you just that, the know how. As with most things in life sometimes things do go wrong and the chapers on Backup/Restoring and Recovery are invaluable. They cover things to think about BEFORE they happen, as with most things how many of us 'computer people' read the manual LAST? Overall an excellent book which I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone starting out with MS Exchange Server 5.5. To the Authors: Nice one! Mint Book!
Rating: Summary: Installing an Exchange Server for the first time? Review: This is an excellent book both for someone new to Exchange and as a reference. If you work at a large company, it contain extensive details on building an implementation plan. I run a small company and had never touched Exchange before but was able to install and implement the product myself. Perhaps the best things I can say is that while I was on the phone with Microsoft asking a question, Microsoft told me I had to make a change to something but didn't know if the procedure was written up. I told them that I had the step by step procedure in front of me. They then asked me where they could get a copy. My only complaint is that I wish the book had more examples of installing forms.
Rating: Summary: This is a must ! Comprehensive coverage for the MCP Review: This is one of the best study guides i have seen yet. Unlike exam cram etc. this book is self explanitory and no other study material is need for the MCP exam. much awaiting one on IIS and SMS by same authors!
