Review: This book is clear, concise , and an absolute joy to read. Ben Forta's teaching examples lead you through the nuts and bolts of web-site development in a simple and straightforward manner. All complex subject matter is broken down into easily understood segments. Additionally, by the time one reads the book, he/she is in complete awe of HomeSite4..... What an awesome tool!! Hats off to Ben Forta and Nick Bradbury!!

Summary: A perfect reference source, a "must have" for homesite users
Review: This book provides an excellent reference source for users of homesite. If read cover to cover it will result in a thorough understanding of the homesite software. If you don't want to read it cover to cover, it is broken down in such a way that it is easy to skip around and find just the areas you are interested in. It covers every aspect of homesite in a very concise, methodical approach - without insulting the intelligence of the reader. The simple direct approach makes it the perfect manual, a "must have" for homesite users. If you don't already own homesite, it even includes an evaluation version of Homesite on CD-Rom.

Review: This is a great learning tool for Homesite, which is good since it seems to be the only book on this subject. The writing is clear, and the presentation is logical and well structured. It will acquaint you with the product and have you up and running in no time. I strongly endorse this book, and found it not only easy to read, but concise, compact, and to the point.

Summary: This is the only available documentation for Homesite
Review: This review is based on several pre-publication chapters which the Sams Publishing company has made available to me.Homesite is a great HTML tool, but the documentation that Allaire supplies with it is so terse and incomplete as to be almost unusable. The "STYH4I24H" book helps fill an important gap by providing the only currently available readable beginner level manual on how to use Homesite. If you own a copy of Homesite, then it is almost a requirement that you purchase this book, simply because the Allaire user manual is so bad, and there are no other available choices. While I generally don't like the "24 hour" approach, it does work much better with a product like "Homesite" than it does with a skill such as "C++ Programming". The chapters that I have seen appear to cover the Homesite interface in a relatively comprehensive manner and the explanations are clear and easily understandable

Review: Vety information, easy to read, and full of useful information. Lots of basics, and excellent tips and suggestions. I learned lots about the Web and HTML (even though I knew both already) while learning HomeSite with this book.

Summary: Be careful of the title!
Review: When I bought HomsSite, I was having some trouble understanding part of the program so I went looking for a book and found Forta's. When I got the copy, I went to the section where I was trying to solve the problem. (It had to do with the icons in the Resource window.) I got more confused because what Forta was telling me to do didn't match with the program. After tearing out my hair for awhile, I found the problem: I had HomeSite 4.5 and Forta was writing about 4.0 and his book didn't show the changes, including exactly what I was trying to solve. In short, I had wasted my money. So be careful of the 4 in that title. If you are using 4.5, you might be in trouble. There is that much change between the two.
