Summary: Excellent guide to find what you're looking for on the net
Review: I'm a veteran Internet user, and have been using search engines & other tools for quite a few years now. I rather frequently (by my better friends) have people ask me to look for things on the net for them, which I like to do in my spare time. I had originally bought this book for my Father who is just starting to get online and really use the web - the book looked quite good for the introductory user. He was asking me how to look for things online, and I'd make some basic reccomendations (i.e. "check yahoo and then check ...". However after I had bought him the book he was telling me about new search engines I hadn't tried before and using great (off the beaten path) sites I use but never told him about. I was immediately suspicious. While I was home for Christmas this year (Dec,99) I started reading the guide and was finding all kinds of accurate & useful information it's taken me years to learn. Wow this book has a lot of great hints on really finding what you want, it's very updated. It also does a good job of explaining how things work underneath so you know enough to figure it out on your own later. Excellent book for new & veteran users alike. This is worth the cover price just in the time you'll save searching in the first month alone.
