Summary: Wish I Knew More About Electronics...
Review: I bought this book because I had read reviews saying that it was a great book for beginners... and have had mixed reactions since receiving the book a few weeks ago. The explanations for each of the devices are fine, but I'm having a h3ll of a time trying to find some of the parts that are listed as necessary for each of the projects. I started out very enthusiastic about making some of the gadgets illustrated in the book, only to be stumped on numerous occasions because I could not find the required components. I'm taking into account that I'm am new to the field of electronics as a raw science, but I wish there were a few more explanations for alternative component usage. Call it a good book for fiberoptic and laser newcomers, but be sure to have that "intro to electronics" book handy if you're like me and planning to be able to build something out of this book.

Summary: Optoelectronics, Fiber Optics, and Laser Cookbook
Review: One of the best electronic books today, optoelectronics is perfect, fun and easy to use. This is a guide to optical circuits which includes fiber optics and lasers, provides a collection of experiments and projects for the college student, technician, and hobbyist. The book is greatly detailed and simple directions to enter the field of optoelectronics in nontechnical terms. It is really fun and again, easy to use for any of its 88 projects. Dare to be challeged and be caught up in what I call the best "something to do" book.
