Summary: Finally a book that does what it is supposed to do, inform!
Review: I am so sick of buying books that are sold by the pound that when I bought and read Web Photoshop 6 Primer I was pleasantly surprised. Computer books have always been long on pages and short on information but this one hits the mark. At less than 300 pages this book taught me more about PhotoShop than any I have looked at and I've looked at a lot. Anymore when I go book shopping one of the first things I check is the number of pages. If it is a book that I hope to learn from I will never buy it of it is over about 350 pages. I have used PhotoShop since version 2.51 and until I received this book I had barely scratched the surface of the program. In less than two days I was making page banners and headers like the pros. It is easy to read and comprehend which is a big plus but more importantly it is to the point. No nonsense examples get right to the meat of the subject with no "bull".

Bravo! My faith in mankind is restored. There is someone out there who actually knows how to write an informative, educational book without trying to impress the buyer with the page count!

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I've only gotten through about half the book so far, so i'm reviewing it kind of early, but I have to say, this book rocks! Easy to read, and (finally!!) a Photoshop book that i can understand. I'm still new at the web, but I've had some Photoshop experience. But I've learned that Photoshop does a lot more than i knew it could do. I'd tell anyone who needs to learn Photoshop or web design to BUY THIS BOOK!! (if the second half is bad, I'll come back here and let you know, but I doubt that'll happen!)

Summary: excellent resource
Review: Lot's of helpful tips, tricks and valuable insights into web design. Clearly written and conversational in tone. Miletsky obviously knows what he's doing. But unlike a lot of other Photoshop authors I've read, he knows how to explain himself so the reader can learn from his experience.

Summary: For newbies only
Review: Not much to be said, if you know you're way a bit around photoshop this book is worthless, if you just learned how to turn on a computer and use a mouse this book is for you.

Summary: Everything you need for Web Graphics
Review: This book is great for people who are new to photoshop or are longtime photoshop users but new to web graphics. Not only is the book enjoyable, it also has some good one liners like, "Now, the only reason you might ever open the GIF89a dialog box again would strictly be for nostalgia... kind of like playing an old Donny and Marie album, just to torture yourself with bad memories of the past." If you are a graphic designer moving from the print to the web world this book is a great start. This book does not make a good reference or guide for advance photoshop techniques. If you are just starting out in photoshop, this is the book for you if you just plan on editing web graphics.

Summary: This book is a terrific tool
Review: This is the second book by the same author that I've read. I was happy that the style and purpose has not changed - it taught me what i needed to know, quickly and easily. I've had quite a bit experience with Photoshop, and although I am mostly self taught, consider myself a decent user. Even though there were parts of this book that I already knew, there were other parts that were beyond my current knowledge base and I was surprised by how much I obviously still needed (and need) to learn. Overall, I thought this was a great book, that was easy to read (I agree with that one guy who wrote about this being "conversational in tone") and helpful if you need to learn some of the important points of workign with Photoshop for web design.
