Summary: This is a must read for new MSMQ programmers
Review: This book follows a very logical example and is continually expanded from being a regular COM component, to adding MTS capability and finally adding MSMQ capability. Explanation of MTS and MSMQ are very good!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: An intro to MTS and MSMQ at the most
Review: This book gives you an idea why you would want to use MTS and MSMQ, and how to use it. However, it doesn't discuss the intricacies of managing and designing MTS and MSMQ servers. It's a good intro, but definitely not your last book on MTS and MSMQ.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very good for serious developer
Review: This book is by far the best I've read in a long time. It is apparent that the authors themselves knows whats important to focus on regarding development using IIS, MTS and or MSMQ. If you have planning to or already are working in a internet/intranet/mts project this book is it. And it's a book for developers, not for administrators as some of the reviewers seems to think. Recommended!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent technical book!
Review: This book is great in that it presents technical material in an easy-to-understand way. It is not hard to follow but still goes very in-depth into the workings of MTS, VB, and MSMQ. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A must have...
Review: This book should be considered mandatory reading for all internet developers using Microsoft technologies.

I would love to see the equivalent using Java.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book... incorrect title!
Review: This book should be titled Microsoft Distributed interNet Applications. I purchased this book when it was first released; it was full of errors. I also quickly discovered that it did not cover MTS/MSMQ in-depth, but gave the over all picture of where they fit into the scheme of DNA. Nevertheless, it is a must have for DNA developers and technical managers.

Summary: Good Intro - 2 years ago
Review: This book should never have included MSMQ in the title. It is mostly an MTS book; from 1998. MTS is now part of COM+ and while most of the concepts have survived, the implementation is different.

Don't buy it. You can get everything you need out a fifteen minute browse in your local bookstore.
