Summary: Not bad, really helped me out.
Review: Overall, the book was great. I didn't use the CD, so I'm not sure of its quality or usefulness. I tried the "Bible" and it was way too technical for what I needed. I needed to set up a database for work to track dates of correspondence to the IRS, clients and dates of invoices. I already had some background with Access, but this book really helped me fine tune the database. I had a menu, various records and forms. I could not have finished this database without the book. The reason for four stars, is that it's specific to the author's example. I had to tweak some things to get it to fit MY database. She should give broader examples of the uses. Hope this helps!

Review: The book illustrates how to use the Access 97 Software. But the cookbook approach may leave you completely in the dark about what you did or why you did it.You'll need other books to deal with the intricacies of relational databases or visual basic objects.

Summary: Book okay but CD is worthless!
Review: This book does an okay job at showing the basics of Access in a few lessons. However, the CD is worthless. I was not able to do the exercises in the book because of the CD. Finally, I built my own database so I could follow along with the exercises in the book.

Review: This book not only is easy to follow in the classroom, it also allows my students to learn at home or work. There isn't a better book right now if you want to start learning Access 97. It's great for beginners but there's enough material for intermediate users as well.

Summary: I LOVE THIS BOOK!
Review: This book was so easy to follow. It gave easy to follow directions. It was very thorough. It gave great examples. I have all the One Step Books. Do you have one for understanding email and internet? PLEASE HELP! I am working from a book called "creating web sites" that has numerous errors. It leaves out instructions. I don't know how a publisher can put this book on the market.

Summary: Excellent book for beginners
Review: This is a great book for persons who are brand new to Microsoft Access 97. The step by step instructions do a fabulous job of demonstrating the basic functions of Access. A good starting point, but it will leave you wanting to learn more.
