Summary: A ?paradigm shift?
Review: At first glance Mark L. Larson's book TRADE STOCKS ONLINE appears to be just another compilation of investment strategies. While Mark does an excellent job in elucidating options, stock splits and bull put spreads, his book is much more than this. In essence his book is an invitation: an invitation to transcend our "learned limitations." Psychologists define "learned limitations" as limiting beliefs that keep us from living our true potential. In his book Mark enthusiastically coaxes us from the false belief that in order to have our financial dreams comes true we must trade our time for a paycheck. He empowers us by having us conceptualize trading and the stock market as a business and helps us by dispelling our fears that trading is hard that it is too complicated, that trading is beyond the abilities and comprehension of us mere mortals. In short, Mark L. Larson is a man on a mission-his mission is to help each of reach our financial dreams so that we in turn can help others reach theirs. After meeting Mark I will go out on the limb and say that Mark gets more satisfaction when his students "score big" in the stock market than when he does. If you are looking for a check list of techniques and strategies or if you are looking for some erudite philosophical treatise on stock market investing, then I suggest you look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a "paradigm shift" that will allow you to secure your financial future then this book is for you.

Summary: Great Book for serious investors
Review: I found this book to be insightful and inspirational. It was extremely helpful to have all strategies explained with entry and exit points for stock splits in one place! I really liked the inspirational sayings on each page. A lot of trading is in your mind and training your mind to be positive is essential. A lot of good information in one place. I also was able to meet the author and his passion for the stock market and in helping others succeed is fantastic.

Summary: Outstanding content that is understandable w/ real examples
Review: I was very impressed with the content of the book and the way the author presents material in an understandable and approachable way. After reading the book I have already started to use the strategy of buying leap options on companies before the split date of the stock. I recently purchased options on Rambus and made over 400% return on a minimal investment. I was able to personally meet Mr. Larson recently at a local seminar and was very impressed with his attitude and enthusiasm for helping traders manage their own portfolios and outperform the market. I would highly recommend this book to traders of all experience levels.

Review: Mark Larson's book is a down-to-earth treatment of how to be successful in the stock market. His straightforward approach deals with the important issues of timing in the market, knowing when to sell, knowing how to read indicators successfully, but most importantly, how to develop an attitude of treating this as a business and learning how to make wise business decisions when it comes to your day to day decisions regarding your portfolio. Review: Mr Larson has an obvious and clear understanding of how the stock market works. But the true gift he possesses is his incredible ability to communicate his knowledge thoroughly and in a very understandable manner. Mr Larson's book was like a light house in the middle of the fog of confusing and overhelming stock market information currently available. The book opened my mind to the concept of 'Buy and Sell' for a quick, attainable profit rather then 'Buy and Hold' for the long term. It also opened my mind to strategies in a down market which are particularly exciting since stocks fall 4-8 times faster then they go up. I found this book inspiring and hope instilling. Tap into Mr Larson's experience and read this book.

Summary: Bull, Bear, or Naked, It Doesn't Matter
Review: Mr. Larson's style of writing keeps his message understandable and to the point. When other stock market authors seem to waste valuable paper, Mark does away with the "fluff" and impresses upon you the importance of taking control of your own financial future. Regardless of the current state of the market, Mark's passion for what he does leaves one feeling confident that anyone who wants to take control of their financial destiny can do so by implementing systematic strategies that are presented in his book, TRADE STOCKS ONLINE. After completely reading this book, you will know what you already should know ... that no one cares more about your investments than you do! I encourage you to answer the same question that I had asked myself: "Why aren't I taking control of my investments." Mark's book will not only allow you to feel empowered to take control, but your fear that currently holds you back will disappear when you acquire the knowledge contained within each valuable page. I thank Mark for sharing this invaluable information and saving me from making many of the mistakes that I have seen other investors make in this volatile market. Summary: Deceiving Title of the book
Review: This is definitely NOT one of my favorite books about stocks. The title of the book is a little deceiving, the author talks a lot about option instead of stocks and half the book is about stock splits.

Chapters 1-4 are about general info, such as you must buy and sell to make money, don't hold for a long time. You must research the stock before purchase, EPS must increase every year. I didn't find anything in those chapters that I didn't already know.

Chapters 5-10 is all about stock splits and when to purchase the stock as well as when to sell. Once again, the author talks about the obvious; buy when you hear that stock is splitting and sell after the split before the after split dip.

Chapter 11 gets into more advanced trading techniques, the bull put spread. This is not something that I use or will use in my trading.

Summary: Break free from the buy and hold strategy.
Review: Trading Stocks Online has great opened my mind to changing my the way I think about investing. It is hard to break free from the buy and hold mentality. Investing should treated like a business. Your in business to make money; if your not making money then why are you in business?

The book starts off by helping the reader develop a dream and then explains the basics on how to protect those dreams by running your business, placing stop losses, and knowing when to get out. This book also has wonderful insight in to strategies that are easy to understand and implement.
