Review: I wanted to get a quick start but was disappointed.Adobe try to combined two books into one(Macintosh and Windows).Save some grief and your money do not buy this book.

Summary: A Good Beginners Guide for GoLive
Review: I wanted to move up in web design so I purchased GoLive 4.0. I was having trouble going from my earlier simple web design software to Adobe GoLive however. GoLive's complexity can be daunting at first. The Classroom in a Book bailed me out since I was able to move through the lessons at my leisure becoming familiar with different aspects of the new interface. I am now more comfortable with GoLive and will be able to work on recreating my website more professionally.

Summary: I feel like and expert!
Review: I'm a beginning web designer and bought this book to avoid taking a $300 course at the local college. I feel like I have a good handle on the basics of a great program now. The more advanced stuff (like CSS) did confuse me toward the end, but I know I can always use the book as a reference. Great for beginners!

Summary: A little disappointed, especially for the WIN user
Review: I've now completed the entire "Classroom in a Book" and found it overall quite helpful overcoming the "new software" fears.With the massive installed base of WIN versus MAC, it is surprising that so many of the critical screen shots are MAC only. They do offer many in Windows, but when one is starting out, every cue helps. It should be redone for Windows. Also, the practice files on the included are locked "Read Only" -- which is a small problem, one must first "unlock" them in Explorer to save them as directed. Missing: The main purpose of software is to help one do a "job" -- in this case, build web sites. It would be very helpful if they included a chapter, "Building a Multi-Page Site from Scratch" -- taking you step-by-step through a good system of building sites using the software. Advanced users and Web Masters aren't reading the book anyway!

While I was able to follow the directions simply, as all the files were there, I felt that it wouldn't translate as easily when I began my site, since I was starting from scratch & wouldn't have the luxury of pre-prepared graphics, text and design. This book is a tutorial, so it lacks the inspiration and advice that another sort of book would offer. For Web design I prefer something more conversational.

Summary: Up to usual high standards!!
Review: Just finished AGL 4.0 CIB and it was worth the price and the wait. Some advanced features not covered (so four stars) but the basics and beyond are done nicely.

Review: The book is ok. I am still hungry. Helped me realize that I am above the average. Slow........ For first-timers !! For those who have the fear of the white page !! .

Review: The cd rom contains several broken files, no explenations on how to find the sitewindow when lost, the second web page you are to create misses three essential buttons. I recomend the designers to make a new one.
