Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good Reference Book
Review: A good reference book for both experienced users and beginners. Tons of information packed into a small, portable, book. I recommend this book to others.

Summary: Solaris Essential Reference
Review: Doesn't cover all of the commands (he says we don't need thatkind of help :-), and the comment about being little more than manpages is dead right. Laid out nicely but I was forever looking something up and not finding it. Gives no concrete examples. END

Summary: Great reference book
Review: Far better than other Solaris books I have seen... gets to the point without all the fluff. Buy it.

Summary: Badly needs proofreading
Review: Generally a good book, but badly in need of some real proofreading. On average, I found at least one error per every 2 or 3 pages. The worst section by far was the VI command summary. There, you can find 5 or more errors in only a few pages. If this book was proofread, I'd give it 4 stars.

Summary: Solaris Essential Reference
Review: Great reference for a person that has not been using UNIX for the last two years. It also helps me to get started on some basic system admin. Highly recommended for users that have been away.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great book for Solaris/UNIX professionals
Review: I am an experienced Solaris user and needed a quick reference guide for all of the commands. This book was exactly what I was looking for. Most of the unix books I look at have tons of code listings and other stuff just to increase the page count. But Solaris Essential Reference contains just the core material that I need to know. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who uses Solaris.

Summary: Essential book
Review: I bought Solaris Essential Reference a few weeks ago. I wish I would have had this book a long time ago. It is a great reference book, without long narratives and fluff. Definitly an essential addition to every SA's bookshelf.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Essential materials
Review: I find this book to be a great help in my daily work. Some people might complain that it doesn't cover everything... but it isn't supposed to. Only the essential material, which it does an excellent job of. This isn't the only Solaris book I own, but it is definitely the one I carry around with me. I highly recommend it.
