Rating: Summary: Novice - better after this book Review: I am a neighborhood gambler only, but some of the guys I play have been playing for years. I'm not exactly an expert yet, but thanks to this book I am not embarassing myself anymore (not with cards anyway). I used to rely on getting the other players drunk, but now I only need to get them partially drunk to win.
Rating: Summary: This one came first! Review: I've read a lot of the newer, and easy to read Gambling books in the past two years, and being that this is a second edition, I can tell that a lot of other gambling authors have read this one too! This is the real deal, folks, and the simplest, clearest and most enjoyable gambling book for novices and even regular players to learn from. I read it and started winning more. Don't bother with the others. They're just cheaper - and you get what you pay for!
Rating: Summary: hands-down winner! Review: This book beats Frank Scoblete's books hands down - because it gives you the facts in a simple, easy to read and understand format. It doesn't promise to make you a big winner like Mr. S does. What a shame, the Idiot's seem to be way more realistic. (B-t-w, Stoker is obviously a plant - go read all the Scoblete reviews. That kind of makes this review stuff a lot of nonsense!) Buy this book and see for yourself how good it is!
Rating: Summary: Good book for beginners but lacking in real techniques. Review: This book is actually a bit on the boring side. It's basically a how to guide on just about all the games you can play. It goes really in depth into the rules and how to play the games. There are some strategies on how to play to win, but I just couldn't quite get it. I prefer Frank Scoblete's writing style and content a lot more. It's a good basic book but if you already know how to play then you may want to pass on this one.
Rating: Summary: AUTHOR LEAVES OUT BETTING ON PENNY STOCKS Review: This is one of the most enjoyable to read books on learning to gamble without losing your shirt (hopefully). In the gambling field there is an area that appears to often be left out. That is the world of betting on "penny stocks." Yet, many times you can regain loses and make great profits with them. One of the best books for those interested in learning about penny stocks is MAKING DOLLARS WITH PENNIES: HOW THE SMALL INVESTOR CAN BEAT THE WIZARDS ON WALL STREET by R. Max Bowser.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book for a beginner. Review: This is the best book on gambling I have read. It is written in simple and easy to understand language. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more on gambling.
