Rating: Summary: Good Programmer's Reference Review: If the WSH has a capability not covered in this book, have have yet to encounter it (and I use WSH each day). This is not a reference for vbscript or jscript; this is a generic programming guide to using the WSH. If you know one or more activex scripting languages, get this book. Easy reading; few mistakes (remember: it's not .ws, it's .wsf by default).
Rating: Summary: Wasn't what I thought Review: It took so much effort to use this book (from finding the errors in the code to figuring out which WSH version it's using), I really suggest a different WSH book.
Rating: Summary: It's Documentation... Review: It's documentation, that's about all I can say. It's not too bad, but it seems like it is definitely aimed more towards the developers. Too many windows 98 examples and not enough real-world NT examples. But, due to NO previous documentation, it's not a bad start.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: Someone else reviewed this book and rated it low (2 stars) because they said it was geared too much for a developer. Well, thats why the title says "Windows Scripting Host" PROGRAMMERS REFERENCE". In the future before you review a book, understand what the book is trying to accomplish. This is a great reference, with good examples
Rating: Summary: Good book - if you already know some of Windows Scripting Review: This book is an excellent resource for someone who already knows quite a bit about Windows Scripting. If you are a beginner or trying to just get started this book is not for you.

Rating: Summary: Better get the one from Sams Publishing Review: This book is poorly organized and confusing - better get the one from Sams Publishing when it comes out.
Rating: Summary: Full of information, Concise, Excellent reference Review: This book is typical of Wrox Press - Minimal fluff, Maximum information. This is a true reference for WSH, VBScript and JScript including syntax and object models. I highly recommend it for all experienced NT Administrators. If you looking for someone to hold your hand, wait and buy Windows Script For Dummies.
Rating: Summary: Probably better books out there Review: This book was my first stab at WSH, and I was dissapointed with this book. The bright side is that it shows most examples in several languages (VB Script, JavaScript, WS), and the first half of the book is pretty good. Howerver, in the second half of the book, all Esposito did was introduct objects that he had compliled and written and how readers could use and implement them. If he wants to promote his own objects and explain them, he should have written a book entitled "These are my objects and how to use them". Otherwise, he should have stuck to the subject matter, WSH, itself (or renamed this book!). Additionally, Esposito is very flowery in hiw writing. If I want flowery writing, I'll check out something in the fiction section of Amazon, but for my technical books, I want to-the-point information. One other thing I saw that another reader noted is that most of what Esposito addresses is Win98. I would have hoped to find more NT / 2K stuff since that's what most of us in the real world are running and supporting.
Rating: Summary: useful, interesting and easy to read Review: This is a short and easy to read book that exposes you to the capabilities of windows scripting technology, providing many different examples and different perspectives on scripting and basic COM automation.
