Rating: Summary: If you have a web page, BUY THIS BOOK! Review: I have a web page on the Internet with graphics I (illegally) stole out of other people's web pages. I got this book and loved it! You'll find out about the great features of Paint Shop Pro by using hands-on tutorials! The book is in color, so it's well worth it.
Rating: Summary: Excellent book for web designers! Review: I read this book cover to cover, and I have learned a great deal about PSP. Before hand, I had no idea where to start or how to make websites look better. The book was written for an earlier version of PSP than I have, so I had to make some slight modifications to a few tutorials, but it was still extremely helpful. I no longer use canned graphics or flat images on my web sites. I now have 3-D great looking graphics, and it couldn't be easier after reading PSP Web Techniques. Thanks to T. Michael Clark! Can't wait for another PSP book from him.

Rating: Summary: The is the book to learn Paint Shop Pro! Review: I spent lots of time trying to find a book to guide me through the different areas of Paint Shop Pro. This book was the one that did it for me. In fact, because of this book, I purchased a copy of Paint Shop when the shareware version stopped working. This is definately the book!!!
Rating: Summary: The best Web graphics book on the market. Review: PSP Web Techniques is essential for understanding and utilizing professional looking images on the Web. It covers the extensive upgrades for the latest 4.0 version of the software in a clear, concise, and creative way. The book leaves nothing to chance. It covers essential web topics, including color,
graphics quality, file types, the creation of all of the basic web page elements, and the use of third-party filters. This guy must love to teach
and share his secrets, because there are artist's tips here that you won't find in other books. Michael offers step-by-step instructions for many
styles of text for headings and logos, as well as seamless tile backgrounds
and edge borders. I learned to create cool buttons, balls, bullets, and icons. It's an art course for the Web. The incredible knowledge gained from this book extends beyond the Paint
Shop Pro software. I have also used what I learned from Michael's book for several image editing programs that I now use, even Photo Shop. PSP Web Techniques helped me to make the transition from traditional art to digital art. Buy it, there is nothing out there like it
Rating: Summary: If you have a web page, BUY THIS BOOK! Review: Super Book! I have to admit, at first I was disappointed. I felt that the book start above a beginner's level. Then half way through I realized, I had been drawn in and was learning not only the basics by application, but more advanced techniques as well. Michael Clark is an excellent teacher! I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to know "Where to Begin??" with graphics.

Rating: Summary: You make the choice - Web page or the book! Review: T. Michael Clark' PSP Web Techniques is a great book for those of us who are relatively new to PSP. His book is a great reference to have readily available, he covers just about everything you might want to create to improve the aesthetic appeal to your page. His web page, equally good, does have more and many different tutorials than does his book, so I feel the two together make for a great balance to get you on your way, or to simply use as a reference when some of those little "tricks" slip your mind. You won't be disappointed buying the book, and it won't cut you off like some ISP's!
Rating: Summary: Experienced users need not apply Review: The majority of the information in this book is oriented towards beginners and novices. For someone new to graphics development and/or new to PSP, this would be an excellent book, but for someone looking for tips on how to create specific special effects using PSP, like the tutorials on the author's web site, don't waste your time. There are only a few effects tutorials covered in the book, and what there are can easily be found for free on the web, simply by starting from the Jasc Development Center. If that's what you're looking for, the author's web site has more free tutorials than the book does. Again, it's an excellent book for beginners and novices to PSP and/or graphic development, but experienced developers looking for special effects would be better off at the author's website.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous book on Paint Shop Pro and Web Graphis in general Review: This book has extremely detailed illustrations which are quite helpful. The author demonstrates differences between right and wrong techniques, using pictures of each technique to show exactly what the effects of the techniques are. His writing style is relaxed, but not sloppy. The overall effect is a comfortable but precise learning experience. When you finish a section or chapter, you feel that you've had a meaningful learning experience, and captured some essential aspect of either Web graphics in general or the PSP program in particular.
