Summary: Typos every other page, technical errors every third page...
Review: Terrible! This book has, literally, typos on every other page! I found so many technical errors, I stopped wasting my highlighters marking them. This book was written by a non-technician/engineer who knew very little about electronics or computers. Save your money -- LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!

Summary: CHECK ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS
Review: The A+ Certification book from Microsoft does a good job explaining the Core and Dos/Win. However, they should have an electrical engineer check their drawings on pages, 294 and 295, which are incorrect. The picture of the diode is not right, the Anode is + not - and the cathode is - not +. On page 295 the drawing of the half-wave rectifier is not correct the drawing shows it as a full-wave rectifier and it looks like it is shorting out the second diode should be reversed.

Summary: Great learning tool, but not complete enough for exam.
Review: This book is a great resource for beginner and intermediate users to learn PC hardware components and maintenance. Also, it has in-depth info on Windows 98 and 2000 installation, operations, and troubleshooting.

However, it does lack that same in-depth approach to Windows NT. Even though WinNT is related to--and somewhat easier than--Windows 2000, there were some questions on the exam 220-222 that I came across dealing with the differences between the two operating systems.

In lieu of this, I used the A+ Exam Cram book (ISBN 1-57610-695-0) to review the day of the exam. It explained Windows NT very well.

Summary: Very elementry
Review: This is the most elementry book on the subject I have seen. It is hard to believe that it could prepare one for the exam. Few questions; useless CD

If a person is just starting and doesn't want to be overwhelmed by his first book, however, it is clear and understandable

It should be republished as a introduction type text

Summary: Very Good
Review: Very good book. I did read it twice and with a couple of online test exam questions, I passed!
