Review: This book is my "bible" for Small Business Server installation. I have enthusiastically recommended it to a number of my colleagues. Microsoft would do well to offer it as *the* standard SBS documentation. The author offers intimate, practical, informed, knowledge of every aspect of an SBS installation.

Summary: Great Place to Get Started
Review: This book is the perfect starting point for SBS. Anyone installing SBS for the first time should read the entire book before installing. Although this book doesn't provide a wealth of information for serious trouble-shooting (and no matter how easy MS has made SBS you will have issues you'll need to address) it will get you up and running with a stable and reliable solution for most small businesses. Although the book seems to address consultants and others doing multiple installs at several different locations, anyone who wants to install SBS and is comfortable with NT can do it. This book presents SBS as an easy option and is the best starting point for SBS, bar none.

Review: This book was the only book I could find on SBS 4.5 which WASN'T by Microsoft... and it is an excellent resource! I've just completed a rollout of SBS across our network and the benefits of the books insights are clear. The handy 'lunch breaks' make the book more interesting, and the quality of the information supplied is GREAT I'd recommend this book to anyone thinking of setting up an SBS 4.5 network!

Review: This has to be one of the most readable technical books I've encountered in over 20 years of slogging through same. Apparently, it's not too hard to write a dull, informative book, and it's not much harder to write a shallow, readable tome. But Brelsford has managed to pack tons-o-info in a book which doesn't put the reader to sleep. Bravo, Brelsford!

Summary: Good book for basics - touching on advanced topics.
Review: This is a great book for the neophyte to get an overview of the basics of SBS 4.5. It does touch on some advanced topics, but those wanting more details had better look elsewhere. Although written with a keen sense of aliveness, numerous typographical errors throughout the book, kept this reader from giving it a higher rating.

Summary: Complete Walk Thru of Small Business Server
Review: This is an excellent book and a enjoyable read. You are taken thru a complete setup of SBS in a fictional setting, learning along the way. Many words of wisdom coming from Mr.Brelsford's vast experience. Because of the many applications in SBS, in depth info on a particular app will need to be obtained from the appropriate dedicated book, such as SQL or Exchange. After reading this book, you will have a very good understanding of SBS and some advanced configurations. It has made me much more confident in recommending SBS to clients, and my ability to set in up right the first time!
