Summary: For a game thats grand the guide just doesn't slam
Review: For some reason my review for the action game on the PSX is posted here, so this is the the one that's for the movie.On the positive side, the guide covers the entire game for the PS2, XBOX, and GAMECUBE versions, and gives a control list for each of them for enhanced and classic controls. Also, it includes the two bonus levels that the XBOX version has. The guide also has a nice step-by-step walkthrough and that makes it easy if you just want to get down to business and beat the level without reading the whole walkthrough. Also, the walkthrough and maps tell the location of gold spiders and thats nice. Also the guide has a section that has the making of the game. The maps section of the guide does show the objectives in a quick way and they even detail difficulty of the level. Now the bad. The maps are in the back of the guide and that [stinks] because they're just a large screenshot! So why couldn't it be in the walkthrough? The guide also can get frustrating. Being that some screenshots aren't very accurate at all and when they're telling you to do something but you look at the screenshot and something else is being done it makes you wonder. The guide is also full of typo after typo after typo! This isn't that bothersome, though when reading it you'll be confused. The boss strategies are also terrible as far as actually strategizing goes...but the attacks they suggest are good suggestions though. But when it comes to side areas in a level such as in the first level when a women loses her purse, they don't cover that at all! The character profiles and such is very detailed though and it gives tons of backgrounds. But the other problem with this is that the guide also doesn't cover many secrets! Theres a menu in the game that says cheat! and the guide doesn't give you any of those cheats that you can put in! Overall:
On the positive Side
+I was impressed with the maps and step-by-step walkthrough
+I was also impressed with the character profiles
+The making of the game was impressive and the interviews as well
+I was impressed with the charts for the different versions On the downside though
-I was very disappointed that the maps are in the back
-The making of the game features too much art and not enough talk
-The organization in the walkthrough was terrible
-Boss strategies need work
-Screenshots need better placement
-Too much page flipping! Overall: All the positive notes got it a three as the artwork and interviews were impressive.

Summary: How can you need this book?!?
Review: I just don't understand why you would spend an additional... [money] for this strategy guide. Don't get me wrong, Spider-Man is a great game and was well worth my money, but 95 percent of gamers won't feel a need for this unnessesary add-on. As the previous reviewer mentioned, you get a good walkthrough but no cheats. Why do you need a walkthrough, though? The game is exquisitely rendered, but it is not a large game. If you are a fast learner or a great gamer, I suspect you could beat this game in a weekend without the help of a guide. So why don't you need a guide? First off, there is a pretty nice training mode in the game where you can hone your Spidey skills. Secondly, no part of the game is particularly difficult or immense. Finally, you are given a pseudo-tutorial during the few spots you could get stumped. For example, I had a hard time finding Venom in the sewers, but after awhile, you run into Lizard and he tells you which tunnels you should take. Like I said before, the game is great and I would recommend it to almost anyone. But it isn't a game that requires a guide. You're smart enough to do it yourself!

Review: Sorry to contradict the last couple of guys, but the book does contain cheat codes. Inside there is a poster. At the bottom of the poster, under the headings, 'Bradygames Acknowledgements', 'Special Spider-man Team', and 'Special Thanks To'there are cheat codes.

Summary: A pretty good guide; but minor flaws...
Review: Spider Man the game was great. I bought this guide expecting maps and detailed level walk throughs. This book delivered what I was looking for and included a gallery of random comic covers found in the game. The small flaw was that it didn't include the various cheats and codes needed for the game. But if you want them, you could find them on various sites. If you buy, Spider Man, the game, I suggest buying this stragery guide for the information it contains...because sometimes a wall crawler needs help.

Summary: Spiderman
Review: The Book Spiderman written by Phillip Marcus was an enjoyable, touching, and action filled story. I, myself do not read alot, but this specific book kept me interested. The characters in this book are well written. Through this story line a person can get a good look at a child that was teased and picked on until he was bitten by a radioactive spider. Now this character Peter Parker, known as spiderman, has superhuman, spiderlike powers along with incredible agility and strength. For instance he can stick to vertical walls, jump any height, width, or depth, and climb anything that gets in his way. Along with his powers he falls in love with a damsil in distress waiting for him to rescue her. Mary Jane Watson, a spunky and lovable character, is the perfect match for Spiderman.Throughout the story spiderman's love for her grows, but at the end their relationship takes an intersting turn you do not want to miss. Not only was the book good, it also followed most of the original comic books by Stan Lee and Steve Pitko. I would recomend this book to any student, who is not real interested in books, because it could change their opinion.

Review: The only thing this guide has going for it is a walkthrough. No cheats, no secrets, nothing. Only a walkthrough. Not to mention that if you do spend your time looking around, the way is layed out for you. This is a good game but bad guide. You shouldn't need this guide at all. Because through out the game, there are a ton of things that help you (like the spidey compass for example). To tell you the honest truth, this guide is a pretty bad one. I wouldn't get it... ...but see this is a really bad guide. There are hints throughout the whole game. The best example is in the sewers when your looking for venom. Venom will tell you whether your getting hot or cold. Overall, the only thing this guide really has is a walkthrough (which you absolutely won't need!) Good game, Bad book

Summary: so fun and real
Review: this game is the best of all time, exspecially if your a true spiderman fan like me. Its like your actually spiderman, the combos are great, the action is intense, and the game is quite friendly, you really get attached, so attached you might dream about how to beat it. if you dont usually do cheats, get some for this game. You can fight like a matrix spiderman, have unlimited webbing, never die, play as green goblin, as mary jane. Trust me just buy this game. It will become part of you. sincerely, spidey fan.
