Summary: Too glib in presentation
Review: Spends too much of the available space with cute comments when an in depth explanation is called for. Useless for learning C++ Builder as an application tool.

Summary: An Excellent Start to C++ Builder
Review: Teach Yourself Borland C++ Builder in 21 Days, is a thorough and fun book to learn C++ Builder. It will show you all the ins and outs, tips and tricks of learning VCL programming that other books cannot match. I am a self-taught, experienced Delphi programmer, who has read many books on VCL programming. If I had a book like this when learning Delphi, my bookshelf would contain a lot less books

Summary: Best way to learn C++ Builder
Review: The book and the enclosed CD are the best ways to learn C++ Builder. The author steps through the application building with hands on exercises. Install the Builder and do the exercises. The book teaches to become productive very quickly in C++ Builder. Not meant for heavy Window Internals oriented programming. The enclosed CD is a bargain. I would buy the book just for the CD.

Summary: Two-thirds of it is good...
Review: The book overall is quite good, enjoyable even. I found myself enjoying reading the book, wanting to make it through to the next day, and then the next. Until, that is, day 15. It is at this point the book breaks down. Like any multiteacher course, communication between teachers is a must, and in this case the two teachers did not do enough of it. Specifically, Reisdorph did a great job of explaining things clearly, and using examples to put ideas into context, while Henderson seemed to do a lot of copying from the C++ Builder Reference manual. Hey, thanks, but I already *had* that! So if you need a good introduction to writing most Windows programs, buy the book. Definitely start with it, and then buy another one to grasp the idea of database usage.

Summary: Fair-to-partly-cloudy
Review: This book is a fairly good way to get started with C++Builder and I liked Ken and Kent's writing style, but what we really need is a good book on the VCL with lots of examples!!! Hello anyone out there

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Decent
Review: This book is good if your a beginner. It does go into some advanced stuff, but there are no real code examples. You would be better off using the builder help files.

Summary: Decent
Review: This book is not one to learn off of. It does not give good code examples, nor any explanation behind the little amount of code it does give you. For programmers who already know the language well, it is a great reference book. You would be better of teaching yourself through the Borland Builder help files.

Summary: Out Of Date
Review: This book is so far out of date as to be unusable. Has very little relationship with C++ Builder 5.0, Complete wast of money.

Summary: Who should read it
Review: This book is very good for beginners, people who had very little knowledge of visual programing and would like to learn basics of C++ Builder IDE. I DO NOT recommend this book for more advanced programers who wish to expend their knowledge about C++ Builder, those people will only find the book useless and irritating. I give this book 4 stars because I believe it's a very good book for people who never had any "contact" with C++ Builder.
