Summary: Search for the Shadowman
Review: An excellent tale that shows the magnitude of communication and trust between a family from generation to generation. This book, about a schoolboy who is assigned a project to look for his family history, is distinctively detailed and is superior for any age. This gumshoe novel created a conundrum when Andy tried to find out what really happened to one of his family members that nobody would spill their guts about. Can you find the "whodunit" yourself?

Review: Andy gets an assignment to write about his family. He searches just a little to far and finds someone that his family is trying to forget about. Can he prove that this black sheep is innocent and clear away his great grandmother;s frightful memories? I recommend this book to anyone who loves spine-chilling mysteries.

Summary: Search For The Shadowman
Review: Andy is a twelve-year old boy who is assigned a history report on his ancestors. He thinks it is an ordinary old project that won't be any fun. But when he stumbles upon an old family secret, he gets very interested in clearing the name and the mystery of his ancestor, Coley Joe Bonner. You'll be surprised at how the story ends and the twists of events.

Recommendation- We recommend this book for ages 10 - 14. The book is moderately interesting and a little boring at times. It could have had a little more action, but we were interested in finding about Coley Joe Bonner!

Summary: This book is the most wonderful, exiciting book
Review: Hi! I am in Miss.Smith's fourth grade class at Town Center Elementry. We had just read one of the most fascinating books in the whole world! It is called Search for the Shadowman by Joan Lowary Nixon. This historical fiction novel is about 12 year old Andy Thomas who had to do an assignment on his ancestors, he thought it was boring at first, but then he realizes that one of his ancestors was not welcomed in his family for some strange, wierd reason. Andy was anxious to find out why, everyone was also turning on him and said don't do this report beacause Andy's great aunt told him that Cole Joseph ( Cole Joseph is his ancestor) did something bad. But what?...Andy also recieves scary, and frightining phone calls and letters. Who and why is this person doing this? I like how this author wrote this book because she gives you little clues who it might be. I am so glad Miss. Smith read this book to us!

Summary: This is a great book to share with fourth grade classes!
Review: I am a fourth grade teacher in Texas. This book was especially appropriate for my class because it was a great way to get the kids interested in Texas history and geography which are two of the major themes covered in fourth grade social studies in this area. Integrating reading and social studies really makes the topics come alive for the students! They didn't want me to put the book down each day, and I was just as anxious to find out what would happen next! It also springboarded an interest in technology which led to this project of writing reviews to post on the Internet! I love it!!! Thanks Joan Lowery Nixon!
