Summary: Excellent Pocket-Size C/C++ Essential Reference!
Review: This book has specialties in the following aspects: 1. It covers current essential part of C and C++ (C89, C99 and C++) 2. It's easy to distinguish the common and the diffenrences between C and C++. 3. It can be carried easily - especially for ladies, so that the C/C++ can be learned almost anywhere anytime. 4. It is a good companion but not a COMPLETE C/C++ reference. 5. The explaination is short and to the point.

Summary: This book is a MUST for any C/C++ programmer
Review: This book helped me through my courses at College and helped many other students I mentored or tutored to Ace their programming courses as well. No matter if your are a 'once in a while' coder, a UNIX/LINUX system admin, or a production quality C programmer, you can find it fast in this book, and save yourself time-wasting referencing of large tomes, online help guides, 'man' pages etc. For all of the core language features you need to know but might not remember when you really need it.

Summary: Excellent C/C++ reference
Review: This book is a "Must Have" for any serious C/C++ programmer. It is not intended for people learning to program, but is excellent for people who want to know: what is the format of operator overloading, or a C++ template, or the parameters to the strstr function. It is well laid-out whith function names and keywords highlighted so that they are easily seen when thumbing through the pages. Very good table of contents and index.

Summary: The previous guy is clueless
Review: This book is immensely helpful for anyone with prior programming experience that wants to quickly learn c/c++. The layout of the book is great, and the way they differentiate c from c++ is very simply stated. They also quickly explain the basic concepts in c/c++ very well. They give it to you straight, and don't treat you as clueless like most books do. I strongly recommend it.. but only if you already know programming.

Summary: Outstanding Reference Book
Review: This book is simply outstanding for experienced C/C++ programmers. Some people have said that this book does not explain various concepts as well as other books. That statement is true; however, this is a reference book, not a beginner's guide to programming. The sytax and usage of virtually every standard C/C++ function are provided in this book. If you are experienced with C/C++ this is one book you absolutely must have in your library!

Summary: An Indespensable Resource
Review: This book is worth it's weight in gold to any C or C++ programmer. All of the basic types and header files, ansi c and ansi c++, what isn't portable and why. The STL and much much more. All in clear concise summarized format for the programmer who wants answers now and doesn't want Long explanations of simple topics.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very good concise description of C++ calls
Review: This book is written for the programmer with C++ experience who doesn't always remember the format of the call he/she is trying to use. I bought it because it was cheap and well reviewed and it has become my most referenced programming book. It covers the new ANSI C++ standard (despite the fact that it was written before the standard was ratified), container classes, all the STLs. All in all a very good book well worth the price.

Summary: This is a good book, but...
Review: This is a good book, but I was looking for a complete, quick reference. Also, the references could have been a little more in-depth.

I give the book 3 stars because it wasn't exactly what I was looking for in a quick reference.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Pretty damn good!
Review: This is a great book for the beginning and advanced users alike. It covers simple beginning topics as well as advanced functions. I find this book very useful while programming, but It can be a little superficial on some topics. I would reccommend this book to anyone who likes C++.
